    3.50 Aintree - Gods Own- 7/2

How he isn't Fav is beyond me is better going right handed on good ground! Has proven him self at this type of level , Skeltons horse Has yes more progression in him but still questions to be answered - too bigger price for me

I'll take Your Busy to run another decent race tomorrow in the veterans chase at Aintree. Good ground, good jockey. 7/1.

Giving the JLT 4th a stone on reappearance.

There's a reason he is that price.

Could be a concern but he has the best form and is the best horse in the race with a touch of quality(not saying he is the best horse in training or anything like thAt) but he does have a touch of class and is the best horse in the race which should over come yard form and usually all it takes is one big winner to turn yard form around

Exactly JLT 4th out 9 runners when 3 didn't finish doesn't jump out as top form IMO but running and beating Vatour off level weights (yes I know he might not have been 100% but even 95% fit Vautour should have beaten him) smacks top class form so giving a stone to JLT 4th and was beaten twice when favourite who didn't deliver on his prOmise when being beaten Fav twice last year doesn't concern me and still think the prices are wrong

He doesn't beat a primed Vautour over 2 and a half, obviously.

For the record I wouldn't back Three Musketeers but I do think the reasons are clear behind Gods Owns price. Didnt he need time to come to hand last season?

It's a smashing chase actually isn't it? Love the Old Roan

Not wishing to nitpick Woolly but surely the horse carrying topweight is the best horse in the race?!?!?

My main fancy at Aintree tomorrow is UBAK who has a 100% at the track. This 8yo has very few miles on the clock and still has more to come. Looks fairly priced at 12/1.

I am confident that ILOVEMINTS will win the mares bumper and is fairly priced at 5/2 for a decent punt!

He needed the run last year but don't forget the year before he won the Haddon Gold Cup beating Balders Success <peacedove> And Cue Card so does go well fresh! I'm not saying he should be way clear Fav but on respect for him and form (even giving weight) he should be Fav against horse who has not delivered really anything special - perhaps that me looking in to it too much with my heart rather than my head but am big fan of the horse. It is as always a fascinating race and hot favs do get beaten in it Masterminded springs to mind! A great race so early on in the season

Very true stick! But not always the case on current form tho for example in Fox Nortons race Devils Bride was carrying top weight the last few bits of form i wouldn't have touched him and the race that Whataboutcarlo won Notsosleepy was carrying 9'12 He wasn't th best horse in the tacr (I don't know who was but it wasn't him <laugh>) but yes most the time they are <ok>

The Old Roan is a stinker of a race to bet in. Everything's price seems fair or too short. I'd definitely say the fav shouldn't be. Gods Own won't be ready. If forced I'd back Vibrato Valtat on the basis the yard are flying and this is probably his Gold Cup whereas everything else has a target.

Looks like Third Intention is getting the early money- he ran well in the Haldon Gold Cup first time out last year i think?

Correction- it was his second race.

He has a 13lb swing with Vibrato Valtat for a 4L defeat in that race by the way.

    I'm tempted by him actually.

    2.10 - Globalisation

Low hurdles mark that should be exploited here. He ran some fair races over fences last season despite yards awful form. Down in the weights he can be a blot on the handicap. He won his bumper here and his early hurdles form isn't bad either (2nd to Clyde and 3rd behind Mr Grez).

The top of the market has the obvious ones in but they have questions to answer for me.

I also like the Gordon Elliot Russian Regent in the veteran chase.

I know I have a soft spot for this horse but I don't quite understand the doubting of GOD'S OWN - record after a 2+ month break reads: 2U11232 so that can't really be held against him. Form at the course reads: 21 and I feel he should be able to give the weight away over what I think is his optimum trip. Anyway, that's my tuppance worth.

As mentioned above, UBAK was too big at 12/1 so I've put those two in to a small Lucky 15 with ROBIN ROE 4/1 and TANTAMOUNT 14/1.

    Good luck all!!
