Back to mundane events - Preston and Cardiff both winning!!!
Edit - we might even stay 2nd, as Preston go 2-0 up!!!

And it's now Cardiff 1 Sheffield Wednesday 1, but Preston are winning 3-0, with Preston defending well.

So we stay 2nd. That's 2 defeats on the bounce for Huddersfield - is their bubble bursting???
And we're already 7 points clear of 7th!!!!
I'll be cheering for 1p5wich on Saturday. <laugh>

So will I, unless there is a way for my preferred result in which they both lose! <whistle>

Just looked it up. 1 start and 1 sub in the Prem, and 1 start in the cup. Not performed that well by the looks of it.

About as likely as them winning the league last year! <whistle>

As Jimmy Greaves has said many times, "It's a funny old game!!"

Looks like we could be in for more 'Chinese Take Overs' - "Chinese consortiums have been circling around a number of English clubs in recent months, taking control of four in the West Midlands – Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion. Another deal is expected to be ratified in the next few weeks, with Hull City the latest English club to attract buyers from the Far East. Sunderland owner Ellis Short also discussed a possible takeover with a Chinese group, but those talks ended without any sign of an agreement in the summer."
I know several on here would love for new owners for NCFC and whilst it would be good in some respects, I'm also wary of becoming the next Balckburn, Portsmouth, Koo Pee Aargh etc. Also, it doesn't appear to have worked too well at Wolves, despite 'splashing the cash' in the summer.

Always going to be a touch of "double-edged sword" about any takeover, regardless of who by. Depends whether we want to remain a yoyo club for all eternity or obtain the investment needed to progress beyond that - investment which ain't going to happen under the current regime.

Good point Cromer and I'd love to see us become an established PL side, but as you say that's NOT going to happen without serious investment, which is not likely to happen with the current owners and their son now on the board as well.

I noticed Gianluigi Buffon’s comments on the sale of AC and Inter Milan to Chinese investors:

“It is the defeat of Italian football. Of Italy as a country, of the traditions, of everything,”

Heartfelt stuff. It’s no different here. Football will never be the same again, and I’ll miss it.

Trouble is, it's one of those "if you can't beat them, join them" scenarios and as we saw towards the end of last season, NCFC couldn't beat a bloody egg, never mind third rate opposition like Sunderland <doh>

Well, you have a point, but I'll never feel happy with it.

The thought of Chinese investors at Carrow Road fills me with dread. I think that would be the end for me. <ok>
