199 - 6 batting first. Cook and Duckett opened, both failed. Root steady 40, Ali with 68. Balance failed again... not sure what's going wrong wth him. Started so well when first and came into test team and looked like was ready made for test cricket but form has been terrible since the ashes.
ballance isnt making the transition to test. its not going to be easy there anyway. I expected bairstow to get done over as well as he just hasn't shown any ability to play spin at test level.. but he's got a 50. its 254/7. if they get 300 its a good game imo. I think there'll be wickets for england in it too.
Until they go out and toss the last wickets away for 20 runs like..... Until they get 300+ we will see. I think we've a team to get into this lot in the bowling though...
Never going to go score 500 on sub continent. 300 isn't terrible, just need to see how the spinners get on
yeah, we scraped to 293. so... the first innings lead Bangladesh establish is the question... 92/2 now they are so its down to whether we can conistently take wickets or not.
yeah.. we've no idea if they've really a stoke or alli or woakes or bairstow middle order here. If we took a couple more would they break.. I really don't know in this context.
as of now looking poor. one tiny burst from moeen and aside form that? well.. they could post a 100 lead here.
Right now it realy looks like it a big push needed in the morning to get through their last 5. We must remember exactly what we are playing here too. outside of zimbabwe for political reasons they are the lowest ranked test side and are only growing into this arena. they are pretty much lower half type stuff in odi too.
