    That's a lot of hills! <yikes>

They'll have to ban 'foreigners' to get a French winner - hasn't been one for over thirty years! Bless 'em, that must hurt!

    Come on Froomey!

Sitting on my patio watching the water in the garden steadily rise. about 18" at the moment. Another foot and it's in the door. Starting to move things onto the beds in hope. Been raining torrentially for about twenty hours and the river 100 yards away is fighting a high tide to drain, though the rain seems to be stopping at last. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Disaster averted by inches. Think the tide has turned and the sea is in retreat. Water a foot lower than its peak, and no more rain.

Does anyone else get continually annoyed by telepests? I work from home and get inundated with calls from them. <grr>

The latest one was from ‘WeClaim4U’ and the most annoying thing is that they spoof local numbers so you think it’s a nice little company in your area, when in fact they’re in a call centre in the Midlands or whatever. I asked her where in Dereham she was from, and she slammed the phone down on me! Charming!

I also get spoofed mobile numbers. It’s hard to block them because it’s impossible to tell if they’re genuine. I complain to the TPS, the ICO, and Cadbury’s CDM, but it has little effect. ****ers! (Rant over)

If I get a call from a number I don't recognise, I don't answer then I google the number and it tells me who is likely to have called and includes comments from those who have answered and tells you not to answer!

    Yes, I do that Dave.

Doesn't stop the annoyance when they ring constantly if you're trying to run a business. Twats.

Also, if indeed you are running a business from home, it's not prudent to ignore calls just in case it's a new client.

Yes, I see your problem, with me, if it's given the all clear I can ring them back and apologise! <ok>

Nearly 3 hours on the phone yesterday to BT. On to one technical person for nearly an hour and a half, tried everything she said. She seemed to run out of ideas/knowledge, and tried to pass me off onto another department, saying about upgrading to infinity to solve it!

On Hold about 15+ minutes. Went through, luckily this one was English, so she actually was very helpful. She got into a waiting list on the other line to talk to a technician for me, and find out exactly what was going on. While waiting for him, she looked into the infinity deal. As we were a loyal customer, we could upgrade for free, and actually save about £1:50 a month. (so that was one good thing to come out of it, we will upgrade to that offer). She then passed me on to the technician who basically made me do all the things the first woman said. Did all that again. Again, not English and talked way too fast. Had to keep asking him to repeat. Then lost all Internet. Called up with terrible speed problems so we can't even watch a youtube video, let alone Netflix, BT Sport or Apple TV. We then had no internet.

Went through a load more crap, and eventually got it back to how it was 3 hours ago, before I even bothered calling BT. He ended up saying there might be a fault on the line. If it's within our property we will have to pay £100 and something quid. If it's not, then BT will sort the cost. (I just know they will tell me it in my land so they can bill me). But they can't do that til Wednesday. So that's nearly a week, where we can't use any services we are paying monthly bills for.

They say things like CDs and DVD are fading and it's all digital. I even sold hundreds of DVDs to MusicMagpie last week. If you're internet provider c*cks up, you are left with nothing!

I've had to watch some TV the past few days...........Horrendous!!! I can't believe what they stick on TV these days.
