Cheers Piskie. You got any favourite spots there?

Yeah, the Grasshopper on Oudebrugsteeg is a great place, just down from Central station, it's the 'gateway' to the red light district. They used to have one of the best menus in Amsterdam, but I think the area has been 'cleaned up' a bit now. If you do go to the Grasshopper, go downstairs down some steep steps and into a haze of blue ganja smoke, you'll know you're in the right place then :)

Greenhouse centrum on Voorburgwal is one of the best in Amsterdam, not the cheapest but it's where the locals go to get their weed, so that speaks volumes. Basically anywhere in the red light district will have good cafes, albeit with tourist prices. There's loads to explore and it's a great friendly vibe. It can be a bit confusing trying to orientate yourself though as Amsterdam is built in a spiderweb type layout, so you can end up going round in circles, crossing the same bridges and ending up where you started. Especially after a smoke !

Try and get out to the Vondelpark too, it's only a short hop on the tram. It's a great park and there's often live music on the outdoor stage.

You'll have a blast fella <ok>
