Cor, I'm envious, Oddy! Best of luck with Squire today fellows, I'm on e/w at 9/1. Damn good chance, I reckon too. I particularly like the Standard/Slow forecast for the track, I honestly think this will suit him over the mile distance. .....and Buzz also, of course!
Two Frankel colts oppose each other in the 4.15pm 1m Maiden at Newmarket: ALFAWARIS and CRACKSMAN ALFAWARIS ran well on debut when 3rd behind Swiss Storm (another Frankel colt) last month. The second from that race has also won since.
Good luck with the two runners today don and stick. I have to be a awkward bar steward though and side with pike corner cross i took 6s yesterday as it looked the value choice in a tough race to pick apart 11/2 available now though. Pike loves the track and distance and i just feel you could set your watch by it. I fully expect a time of 139 from pike and think the others might struggle to match that today with the standard/slow. Best of luck though . Uc
I wonder if travelling together and being boxed next to each other will put them in a happy state of mind. I think it's the first time they have run at the same venue on the same day
Had to read the last bit twice....... thought black stallion had washed you down!!! Typical business trip I thought lucky bassa if thats your thing
Could well get egg on honourable face here, UC (but nevermind, it'll wash off), but the track condition is a rather rare Standard (Slow), therefore I would have thought the time factor to be not so critical, i.e. speed statistics in this respect are limited? I do like the chance of Squire because he stays a bit further than this, which might help under prevailing conditions? However, best of luck, and early congrats if your choice pulls it off!
Not basing on speed stats my good man just pure consistency. I do however try to gage a time to runs with obviously all other factors involved. I do fancy squire to have a good run but cant purely put my money on for that reason even though 9s will suit some people ew (myself included in certain circumstances),today i feel though 9s is skinny with the race wide open. I have however only had a light bet as i put so much time into the race as a forum fav was out . Cheers anyway
FFs. Just wouldn't get going. won by a horse that run 7 times and has managed to win just a 3k maiden prior to this G3
Thanks all, for the first time in a while I'm really excited to go and see them and have a feeling..... dont know why as little to suggest that from recent performances!! Fingers crossed. Barney - surely that's worth chucking 20p on!!
Yes, 9s is a bit skinny, maybe a slight drift, but have a feeling there'll be a bit of money for Squire. We'll see soon enough.
Yep, found things always tasted just that little bit better when the dinner guest of a supplier or contractor!
Been deliberating over th 520 and i think Mulrennan has been booked with one reason in mind on hidden rebel so with 11/2 on offer i will take a chance.
Nice win from CRACKSMAN at Newmarket. I'm on course with work and it was a very taking debut, he's a small individual and must have been very backward last year as the breeder normally sells his colts as yearlings.
