Winning and top also helps! Isaid it before the season started that after 10 games and then at Xmas he need to have us in or around the top 2 and he has done the first part of that. It hasn't always been pretty, it hasn't always been good for our nerves, but he is getting the job done. 3pts on Tuesday and I really will start to believe! Bah!
It will be interesting to see who he picks when Brady and Howson return. He has an embarrassment of riches to select from in midfield and someone is going to be disappointed. Can't see Wes or Dorrans being dropped so that leaves Brady, Pritchard and Howson for the one place. A nice headache to have though !!!
I wouldn't be surprised to see Wes rested midweek, with Pritchard given a chance in the central role. Tettey's knees make it difficult for him to play two in a week don't they? So Howson-Dorrans in the centre of the park?
Yes DH, I'd agree with that and as OCF says, it must be nice for AN to have such decisions to make. I'd also like to see Basil start, or at least given 20-30 minutes, not 20-30 seconds!!!! Based on recent results, I think I'd be prepared to give AN until the end of February.
Cant drop Dorrans, he's having an excellent spell I'd keep Pritchard in the team, Howson disappears for long periods of the game, and still not sure about Brady's commitment! But....WTF do I know?
I must admit that I am enjoying this season. It makes a change from wondering if we might hang on for a point.
I'd be inclined to agree, if nothing else those in posession of the shirt whilst continuing to win should keep them until either; an irresistable cameo from the bench, a drop in form or injury. I think Jacob has earnt the benefit of the doubt so far to have gotten away with a slightly muted performance on the weekend, but have another muted half vs Fulham and hook im for Brady or Josh. Bah!
Pretty much agree with you there General and I'm wondering if we might see Josh start this evening, as Jacob was certainly not at his best on Saturday and that was after an International break.
It is unrealistic demands and assessments like this from fans that has turned the game into the joke it has become today.
It's not unrealistic, Neil was given another chance after relegation to take us up in the 2 auto positions. If we fail and have our squad picked apart then it will be harder next season. I expect us to finish top 2 and so do most bookmakers. Not sure how that makes today's game a joke.
We certainly have a good chance of finishing in the top two, but promotion is the aim. There are no guarantees in football.
Even if he gets us promoted, it doesn't mean he's the best man to keep us in the PL. Successful teams make improvements before its bloody obvious that improvements are needed.
The chip inn long Stratton offers guaranteed top notch fish n chips! (This is not something they actually state, but dagnamit they're always so good!) Bah!
