With a canny healthy squad and competition going to be fierce for places surely it will be encouraging signs as we look to have a good cup run. I am sure the lads who aint in the side will get there chance to go out and show what they have got in the Carling Cup first followed later in the season by the FA Cup. Looking at our squad now and with the 3players aswell who we are after (obviously we have to get them over the line and into the red and white stripes first) it is one very competitive squad that can only stand us in good stead for all 3 competitions. GK - Mignolet, Westwood, Gordon, Carson FB's - Bardsley, Elmohamady, O'Shea, Richardson CB - Brown, Bramble, Turner, Ferdiand, Laing RM - Wright Phillips, Larsson CM - Cattermole, Gardner, Colback, Vaughan, Meyler LM - Bellamy (obv. can play as CF), McClean, Cook PM - Sessegnon CF - Gyan, Ji, Wickham, Campbell, Tounkara
Not forgetting that brown can play RB, Elmo can play RW, Anton can play anywhere along the back. But like he ^,said still a lot of work to be done, especially considering two of the thee you mentioned arent our players
I would love nothing more than to have a good cup run and for our fans to take the competitions seriously and actually turn up for the games...
10th and a cup run would suit me fine this season. even if we dropped to 11th or 12th but had a day out in wembley would be a sign of progress imo. and a great boost for the club. If stoke can do it why cant we?
the club should look at what Arsenal do and make the cup rounds up to the quarters part of your season ticket to try and get a decent crowd there
