Does anyone know what would happen IF he doesn't???

Quite likely it would hand the election to Hillary on a platter.

It's too late to change the ballots in most states they've already been finalised. Lots of people have already submitted mail-in votes.

Any replacement candidate would have to be write-in. I don't know if any major office has ever been won by a write-in.

That really would be astonishing. We're not talking about Azherbhajan here, this is the presidency of the U.S.

Incredible debacle if it happens. Serious changes to presidential elections coming imo.

I think the electoral college system, per se, is better than our constituency, first past the post. Think the primaries and the election going on, let's be honest, for nearly a ****ing year, is not something to ape and is the reason why something like this will happen.

So I've just seen a video where Trump is travelling up an escalator and he points to a 10 year old girl and says "I'm going to be dating her in 10 years."

Reporters are saying it's realistically likely he won't even make it to election day.

The nomination should switch to Pence but there's still a formal process required to do that, it isn't automatic. And as Milk said some state ballot deadlines have already passed and Trump's name is already on them. If Pence 'took over' it could be very confusing for voters who would want to vote for Pence, but would have to select Trump on the ballot.

Reactions: Treble
Anyone Ross Perot?? I thought Trump could never get this far after that. But Donald was cleverer and infiltrated a mainstream party rather than go in as an independent.

Lesson learned for both Reps and Dems to let the megarich lunatics remain independent!

Just seen Graham Norquist (sp) wriggling on a hook on HardTalk with Steven Sakur. Demolished on every point re Donald so that his only was, paraphrased, 'He's not Hilary', to the extent that when finally cornered as to whether he would actually vote for Trump he said 'I live in DC - we don't get a vote'. I did not know that, but anyway, I suspect that while the rednecks and hicks will openly still support Trump, your run-of-the-mill Republicans will still support him but not shout about it. So, as with the polls and Brexit, do not assume that the don't knows will side with the status quo or even split 50/50 - it's all about whether there's enough anti-Hilary sentiment out there to get them to vote now.All of those who are voting 'for' Trump are already decided, imho, and nothing you can say about the blert will change them; all that's left is how many 'undecideds' hate Hilary enough to get themselves to the voting booths.

Noticed how trump ambles about the stage during the points he makes, just like Adolf?
