Numbers game: Fulham fans have not travelled well this season
It's not been the best of campaigns for either QPR or Fulham so far - and it seems their fans have been voting with their feet, on the road at least.

The west London neighbours have the two worst average away attendances in the Championship this season - with an average of just 527 (Fulham) and 689 (QPR).

In fact, after the first five away games of the season, Fulham have taken a total of just 2,637 away, and QPR 3,444 - worse even than Burton Albion, who were a non-league club only seven years ago.

Turning point: Will their win over Fulham see better times ahead for QPR?
Burton are, in fact, the next worse supported on the road, followed by Cardiff City, Reading, Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich Town - most of whom haven't had many reasons to be cheerful this season.

But it's one place above Ipswich in 16th that you will find Brentford , who have been undisputed west London kings of the road so far.

The Bees, who will boost their numbers further when around 2,500 make the journey to Newcastle on Saturday week, have so far taken 4,951 fans to away games this season, at an average of 990.

Travelling well: Brentford fans
Top of the league, somewhat unsurprisingly, are recent Premier League boys Aston Villa (15,736 at an average of 3,417) and Newcastle United (14,115 at an average of 2,831), followed by Leeds and Wolves and then, perhaps down to their unexpectedly brilliant start to the season, Huddersfield Town.

So are we seeing the start of a power shift in west London - or is it that Bees fans still buzzing at being in the Championship after almost uninterrupted decades of lower league football.

Or is it that QPR and Fulham fans are fed up with the downward spiral their teams have been caught in over the past couple of years, but will return when the good times do? Let us know your thoughts.

We played Barnsley and Burton (mid week), Hudds and Wigan. Only Fulham was local which we made the top five away supports that weekend.
Leave it until the end of the season.

You know it's a false table when you see MK Reading above us. <laugh>

The table was for five games. That was before we played at Fulham.

Our games were Cardiff on a Sunday, Barnsley & Burton midweek plus two saturday's at 3.00 up north.

Sorry but I can't do Barnsley or Burton on a Tuesday (although I was at Burton for last years LC exit). I've been to Wigan too many times (as my inlaws live there) and I was abroad for the Cardiff and Huddersfield games. if all else fails I'll see you at Rotherham.

its a load of bollxxx because if we had warnock we would be top of the league and then the support would have been better

No surprise with some of the shyte we've played this season. Those who did travel to those games deserve a lot of respect. At least we've had three wins on the road this season a better percentage than we're used to, just very boring in achieving them...
