Sorry it's a bit lengthy but I promise you, it's well worth the effort http://sport.scotsman.com/sport/Interview-Paul-Lambert-football-manager.6813903.jp?
An OK read, always good to see an interview with the big man. Never heard of the EDN though, has that come about since I left Norfolk??? ;-)
Morning dave - just confirms what a lot of us thought about him anyway, top man, top manager, with his feet firmly planted. He´ll go far imo.
Back from my hols in Turkey and get to read this great link - Thanks Dave. A very balanced piece of journalism (EDN aside), made for an interesting read. Has anyone else heard of his marriage issue that was brought up in the piece (page 5) and if so what does anybody think will be the conutations for us?
I heard a rumor he had split from his wife as the long distance relationship was a strain. Heard this during last season. Aparently she would not move from Scotland as her family is all there. To be honest, it could show a comitment to the club, but ultimately, I think it shows more his comitment to management. It is very unlikely that he will get a job local to his family and so if she was never going to move it would kind of signal the end. Management is his profession and his passion.
I guess his wife and family contributed to one of the reasons why he only stayed in Germany for such a short space of time too. I mean surely you would would be on the crest of a wave having won the champions league an the club would see no reason to get rid of him.
If these rumors are true then it is a sad thing, but unfortunately unavoidable. I mean, what else would he do for work?
I left a reply to your link on 12yards dave, so rather than write it all down again, and as more people are likely to read it on here, here's the link to my thoughts: http://www.12yards.co.uk/article/36564/interview-with-a-legend/1
Can't argue with your reasoning there! Just a thought, before last season began, most of us were looking for consolidation, then look what happened! Dare we dream of a top 4 finish?
I was beginning to get a bit nervous about the big kick-off next week until I read this, PL just oozes confidence which obviously transmits through to the players. Bring it on ! OTBC ... CTI ... ILWT http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/06/paul-lambert-norwich-city-interview
