I'm not sure that's right. What's the evidence to support that?

I respect your different opinion, but I genuinely don't get it - a player that wants away, is unfit, has a poor attitude and has never performed consistently for the club over fit and hungry players that can only benefit from a decent run in the side.
Happy to disagree, and trust in the current management to make the right decision.
He was going to Benfica I think it was just before the window closed, but failed the medical. Can someone explain why we have been unable to get rid. He does not feature in JFH's plans going forward. He costs a lot. He wants to go. Yet nobody wants him. Which of the three obvious reasons apply?
1 TF wants to recoup as much of the money Harry persuaded him to invest in 'the boy'. But he was never worth that in the first place
2 Would be purchasers are put off by his sick note reputation
3 He genuinely wants to go. But only if he gets as good if not better terms than he had with us.
We can speculate al we want but for those clamouring for his recall, it is clear that he is no more than a quick fix - at best the two or three games before he picks up another injury.
After being given only 2 games this season it's hardly surprising he was tired after 60 minutes. Of course he's not match fit. He still scored 3 goals which apart from Cherry is 3 more than all our other central midfield players have managed together all season! Of course Sandro is probably not one for the future but we need points so he is and should be in contention while we still have him
Why should he leave in January
Sit out his lucrative contract for six more months and then sign for someone else
Someone will take him for free next season
Wouldn't be the first to run down a contract with us
If there is no chance in hell of him playing them why is he on the subs bench taking a spot from one of the so-called hungry players
The only logical reason to play him or anyone, and have him on the Bench is to help us win games and get points. He, Cousins, Luongo, Henry and Ariel are basically completely for 2 positions. As none of the others have scored yet this season and we need a few of from there, Cousins and Ariel have been injured, and Luongo is on another World Tour, Sandro could easily make his 3rd appearance in a row next week. There is only 1 logical reason to play him, and that is to put him 'in the shop window'
He wants to leave - he has no loyalty or allegiance to the club, he just wants to go and, but for a failed medical, discussions would not be happening and we would all be concentrating on the bigger matters in hand.
...and playing him to 'put him in the shop window' will always be a trade off between hoping he does well enough to engineer a move - versus risking he gets yet another injury which means he stays to run down his allegedly very generous contract. It seems the club believe he is more likely to do the latter and are not risking it - they want him gone, and are prepared to wait until January.
In the time he has played for the club, he has neither proved a reliable or very successful signing - why people think he is suddenly going to become anything else is beyond me.

Not sure why he's on the bench if there is no intent to play him,
