The only places in Newcastle I have been is the train station and Syd James's Park..You can put Ponteland Aerodrome in there as well I suppose..

Genuinely? A city that is essentially on your doorstep, I presume, and you're what... late 80's, you've never been on a night out there?

You clearly have a strong distaste for your neighbouring friends.

I don't mind Liverpool as a city, it's a cracking night out, the birds were always a doddle to get in your taxi as well, all you have to do is show them a designer label that's not fake and they'd happily marry you.

Clearly goes beyond football for you.

I just worked out that since I stopped smoking, I reckon I've saved somewhere in the region of £15,000 and £18,000

I reckon my wife must have spent that cos I've not noticed any difference at all.

Just had a company meeting where it was announced they were going to make redundancies.
Work force of about 75 and up to 15 are going.
At present i am safe but not sure how long for if we don't get any decent orders in.
Feel for those in danger of losing their jobs though.
The powers that be reckon that with such small numbers that it will be all done and dusted in less than 2 weeks.

That's a shame mate, I hope you will be ok. What's the deal, less fires mean less fire engines or something?

Fingers crossed there won't be any compulsory redundancies at your place Crumble.

Hopefully you'll get more guys wanting it than the company need to lose.

They announced redundancies at my sons place and they had 4 times more apply for voluntary redundancy than the company were looking to reduce by which meant all of the young guys with young families were all ok.

There is an absolute cull going on at our place at the moment..So far around 130 have gone...Our lass's department doesn't get done until next month and my department in December or January. It is a possibility that we both could be out of a job by the new year..
