I don't care - as long as we beat both scouse teams! Bragging rights are at stake here. I don't understand why people seem to be seeing Liverpool as some unbeatable force. They've started well, but there are too many crap players bought from their nursery at great cost to keep them going.
Lots of people putting us down for a draw with Everton. They're not that good. We should be looking to beat them.
Probably because a lot of us remember how good we were under Ron away to the good teams. He's very good at setting his teams up for those games.
I hope Boufal doesn't realise that everyone has him down as the Second Coming.....talk about pressure.
Plus 12 tackles and 9 times breaking up opposition play in our half - come on - we have expectations he needs to meet!! Poor sod...
It's OK to have high hopes from a player that we have not seen and who broke our transfer record? I'm not expecting him to set the world on fire but excited to see what he can do.
Burnley (H) - Win Man City (A) - Lose Chelsea (H) - Lose Hull (A) - Draw Liverpool (H) - Lose Everton (H) - Win 7 points
I see wins against Burnley and Hull, so there's 6 points. I believe we'll be fired up and beat Everton, which is 9 points, leaving a tricky game away to City and then two home games against Liverpool and Chelsea. We tend to get a result in one of those, which means 10-12 points is a possibility. If you want to be super positive, isn't the City game between their two Barcelona games?
Re City didn't realise that! Maybe not a write off just yet then. I'm also expecting Pep to struggle a little more in the lead up to xmas. People crowning them champions after a handful of games was just plain daft imo. That and Liverpool certainly our hardest games though.
Football is an unpredictable sport so all I will say is that we will get something from sod all to 18 points and that is the only spot on prediction posted on this thread.
He'll need to be starting by the Liverpool game or they won't get all sweaty after one good performance against them and offer us four times what we paid for him. Vin
And if that doesn't happen, we won't be able to moan that we've sold our players for a terrible fee...
Trust you realise in the light of the PM's choice of music yesterday this now takes on a whole new meaning .... However, I think some of us have learned from the Gaston experience! Personally, I expect no less than he should walk over the Solent, turn my bottle of tap water into finest Bordeaux before kick off, score a triple hat trick against both Liverpool and Everton then be allowed 40 days and nights R&R in a wilderness (The Isle of Wight, for example).
Ref the Gastón experience, does anyone actually know (not just hearsay) if he was a black box or a Cortese signing? Vin
