Early days, but I'm not seeing that much of an upgrade on Mig so far.
Karius didn't instil confidence in me with his decision making or his command of the box and his distribution was iffy.
I'm willing to give him time, but I think the belief that he's a distinct improvement is premature.

His starting position is much higher and he gets involved in passing much more.

So far he hasn't been good on balls into the box but nowhere near as bad as De Gea when he started in the PL. Or today.

For me hes not caught one single cross i think and missed 3/4 since his debut v hull.

Thats not good.
Like I said - I'm willing to give him time, but I'm not seeing our goalkeeping messiah just yet.
Tbh, I wasn't overly impressed by the video of him that was doing the rounds before we signed him - he pushed the ball out into the danger area too often for my liking.
Anyway, we'll see - people seem to forget that Pepe flapped a lot and went in for a bit of juggling in his first season with us.

All well and good, but he's a keeper and stopping goals is rather more crucial.

Hey...

Excuse me but van gaal is a utd legend.

If you ignore fergsons record then van gaal stands up quite well to the record of the managers in the 70s and 80s. He won an fa cup just like big ron......

Its not van gaals fault utd fans have an unrealistic expectation based on history.

Even I could win the league with the resources given Van Gaal and the not so special one.

Mourinho has done nothing.

I am serious though.

You could have tommy docherty who had to oversee utd collapse and then recovery to win an fa cup or ron atkinson who won 2 fa cups.

Like.. busby won a lot relatively but you are talking really 30 years there where those were the only successes until ferguson.

So really van gaal lead utd to the 4th place trophy and followed up with a cup win.

He should go down as a club legend for them seeing they may well have a long period before they win a league again.

Yeah, 6thchester utd fans that are to young to remember the years between Busby and Fergie's first title win are struggling to come to terms with their club's mediocrity, the holy grail of a top 4 finish and the occasional cup look set to be their best bet for the foreseeable future.:bandit:

<whistle>

exactly! now you've got it.

Van gaal is a legend IMO, he actually won them a cup and got the the record number of FA cups. Moyes was their Dave Sexton. Mourinho seems sexist enough to be their big Ron equivalent.

33 to 1 odds of Stevie G moving to Man Utd next.

Some overly optimistic mancs driving those odds.<laugh>

He's no Owen. I think he'd rather have a patch than lose his status as a club hero.

"Pay cut" not "patch" thank-you autocorrect but that works too.
