Castro's Coffin you can ram your yardstick up your arse till your friends can see the the distance from your mouth to the top of your skull!
My mom was very sick at the time and passed away not that much longer after the game. I did'nt want to go see the bloody egg chasers but my mom did so I took her.
Can't tar everybody with the same brush and who the **** are you to decide who is a true fan?
Not really trying to beat you down here just trying to stop this petty "I'm a better fan than you" nonsense that the younger generation like to thrust upon us whilst whining about not getting tickets for friggin Old Trafford etc.
I know fans that never went to boothferry park and are as dedicated as anybody at the KC and I know fans that went to BP that are shamefull and only went when we were doing well.
Don"t generalize and enjoy being a Hull City fan FFS
Queens Park Rangers 1 Hull City 1
Very early 70's
Thumbed it down with a friend can't remember seeing more then a handful of city fans at the game .. I was 14 and we both went on there little kop. Amazing how many backed off when we offered to fight them all... lol
Took us 2 days to hitch back to Hull and got banned from going out again.. But got round that by skipping school on Fridays and not going home till Sunday or Monday ..
Football specials , those were the days. conning the fare in train station and then tapping enough money to pay into the ground..
When we all stood up and sang what ever we wanted....

My lowest attendance was...
That Chester game!! At least I think I was there. I was there for a Tuesday night Autowinscreens game where the only stand open was the family stand and there was bugger all people there, but I had Cambridge in my head.
As for away following. Probably Mansfield about 98 or so. It when we had Walters and Kyle playing for us I think. There were so few Hull fans they put us in the little mini-shed type thing behind the dugout that the players were using (Mansfield had only 3 sides to the stadium at that point - I haven't been back to see if it has been updated since). I sat next to an injured Mark Greaves for most of the game, and Whitmore sat behind me.
Totally agree. I would find myself drinking in town and seeing faces I recognised from the couple of hundred absolute away die gards and we would exchange nods. Or you'd hear a mate say "Him over there goes to City regular". You'd never get that now and although I miss these golden days of Torkey weekends it's much better for the club that they dont exist now.
Who travelled to that dire FA Cup encounter in the snow vs Wigan a few years back?
Lost 4-1 i think? Geo opened the scoring.....Premier League Clash and it was the lowest in the whole competition that weekend and lowest between any two premier league teams ever i do believe
Was so quiet you could literally hear a pin drop
Not changed much have you with your obsessionI would bet that most of those that seem to get so upset about chanting, people standing up etc weren't at those games but quite few of those who don't were. Looking at the record books I was at 7 of the lowest gates we have had (I also think that those going on about the chanting really want to get a grip).
My yardstick for true fans was being there for City when so many had decided to go to Wembley, many who had never been to a rugby match before or since. A lot must ha e just gone for that final as FC and Rovers only a enraged about 19-20,000 between them that season. And,yes, I was one of those at the Southend game and not at Wembley.
Sad to think people at these games mentioned didn't get tickets for a lot of the prestigious away games whilst in the Premier League and had to see people who had just arrived somehow getting them for Old Trafford, The Emirates etc. Of course the ones who were there for the low gates are still there and all those new arrivals, who were sat like dummies at away games telling people to sit down and shut up have scuttled back away.

No mate all i do is defend peoples right to like what they like. You do get get up when someone responds to your post about City fans with ones about RL fans being just as bad, don't you?

I dont go to more than 3 Rugby games a year to be honest and half the time your sat with people that know **** all about the game.
At the same time when i go to watch City theres plenty of city fans that talk ****e and can play and manage better even though they never even owned a pair of boots.

Yeah but did they have more than a combined IQ of 100 between them.Used to go to rugby games when I lived in Hull. And speedway when the Vikings got more than City, FCand .Rovers combined for a brief period. Like most sports except for American, Gaelic and Australian versions of football which don't involve much contact between a ball and a foot, baseball and basketball. So, basically association football and both versions of rugby.
One thing I like about watching union at a local level is nearly everyone watching has played the game at some level. Mind you, even they have trouble keeping up with all the rule changes they bring in regularly. RL isn't any better in that regard,
I have posted on here before where I showed up some supposedly long term FC fans who were sneeringbabout City and their fans in The Avenue just before the FC v .Rovers final over their lack of knowledge of things they should have known if they had been going for only 2 or 3 years.
