Here's the actual transcript you apologist; Allardyce's agent: "Is that third party ownership a problem though?" Sam Allardyce: "It's not a problem." Telegraph reporter: "Yeah, well, I mean there are, there are ways..." SA: "It's not a problem." Reporter: "...there are ways around that, as I understand it, or ways through that." SA: "(inaudible) and er (inaudible) they've been doing it for years." BREAK SA: "You can still get around it. Obviously the big money is here." BREAK SA: "What they would be better doing is, making sure they've got the ownership and the agent. So they own the agent, the agent works for them, as well. 'Cause then the agent, if he gets sold on again, the agent will get more money if he gets sold on again." BREAK SA: "You get a percentage of the player's agent's fee, that the agent pays to you, the company, because he's done that new deal at that club again, or, they sell him on and you're not getting a part of the transfer fee any more, 'cause you can't do that. But ... but you get - because of the size of the contracts now, the contract'll be worth 30, 40 million, at 10per cent." His agent: "Yes, I understand that." SA: "And you get, you get, you've done a deal with the agent where you're getting 5 per cent of the agent's fee. Which is massive for doing about two hours work like
exactly, it's what everyone is doing, how many millions did Pogba's "agent" get? He's not exactly telling them anything no one knew, simply telling them how it's done
You're missing the point. Despite this hardly being ground breaking stuff, he's the manager of England and as such needs to be squeaky clean, but he's sat in a hotel bar, drinking and telling some randoms how to circumvent FIFA and FA rules in order to pocket cash. He's also agreed to take on paid work which will almost certainly have needed FA approval under the terms of his contract. It was a piece of awful judgement driven by a desire for cash.
I cannot believe I would ever find myself writing this, but... I agree with you, Bambi. PS: I'm off to have a shower. I'm suddenly feeling soiled.
.. still indoors then? ... take a risk ... venture out ... pop down to Bree for a swift half at The Prancing Pony ...
The one thing we absolutely know about the FA is that it absolutely will not sanction any dodgy financial dealings. It wouldn't pick Redknapp on that basis, and it won't keep Big Sam in charge. I can't say that I'm disappointed, as I always saw his appointment as England manager as a joke.
He had only agreed the paid work in principle as he stated that he needed permission to take on the work so he is clear on that one the dangerous one was the discussion on 3rd party ownership. On insulting Hodgson i must point out if that is a sackable offence the unemployment rate in this country would have rocketed to about 37% this summer
I think the only reason he just might escape is to spare the FA any further embarrassment, as they've only just appointed the twat.
Poor form taking the piss out of your predecessor in any walk of life, let alone as the England manager to randoms over a pint.
Klopp's audition was on MNF. Jamie Carragher has recommended him personally. Well not personally, but via a translator.
