Obviously I wasn't listening to Rodeo Norfolk, but shame on them! I just don't get it, unless they were referring to how Burton were playing, they attacked us whenever they had the chance so there were periods when they had the ball and looked very organised, which was quite refreshing for a team to do that on our ground. They never looked like beating us in my opinion.
Sat through the West Ham Vs Saints game.....That was a dull game. West Ham look awful! Really surprising. Their defence looked as slow and sh*t as Chelsea's yesterday.
A bit harsh on Burnley that André Gray is banned for four matches - for homophobic comments made on social media...in 2012! According to wiki, he was at either Hinckley or Luton at that time and yet it's Burnley who take the rap for it?
So if a rapist was caught 4 years after the event but had changed jobs in the mean time he shouldn't get punished because his new employer would be inconvenienced? Sorry he did the crime so he should face up to the punishment. Bloody useless system that only punishes him 4 years after the event. You might argue that if football has managed to live with his comments without punishment for that long then why now? Probably because they have to play the gooners in the next 4 and someones has had a word to the authorities. Bah!
Tettey offers more of a defensive screen. Full stop. Dorrans and Howson prefer to be on the front foot pressing forward and creating stuff. Be handy if we could accommodate all three!
We played some of our best stuff in the Premier League with a midfield trio of Tettey, Howson and Fer. Dorrans doesn't quite offer what Fer does, but that's not to say a similar system couldn't work. I wouldn't be surprised to see it deployed against stronger sides.
Trouble is, you'd end up sacrificing either a Wessi or one of the wide players - which means Howson would be deployed widish right and we'd have limited width going forward.
If you sacrificed Wes it could work. Tettey sitting deeper and Dorrans and Howson going box to box with Howson the most advanced. I think Howson is a great option going forward infront of Tettey and Dorrans, he has more bite than Wes, Naismith or Pritchard but is good still in an advanced role. With those three I think it would free the manager up to play some exciting talent wider, with any combo of: Murphy, Murphy, Pritchard, Canos, Brady or Jarvis. Just please AN do not put either Howson or Wes out wide, For me you negate both players qualities and value to the team in doing so. Bah!
That's the way Hughton played it, Pilks and Snodgrass were the wide men, Wes sacrificed. Round pegs, round holes.
I'm not sure that's the way Hughton played it. He may have set the team up in such fashion, but I doubt Neil is telling the lads that the halfwayline is in impenetrable wall not to be passed! That was the way Hughton seemed to play it! Bah!
Great news for Plymouth Argyle fans after a long period in the financial doldrums (or worse! ) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37470868
Just looked at fixtures on TV for the week ahead and was amazed to see no mention of NUFC v NCFC on Weds night!? If that's accurate, why aren't we playing on Tuesday, like 22 of the other champo sides? http://www.live-footballontv.com/
Klopp on MNF... ..Really strange. They are asking him about his team set up, what they do in different transitions of play, what he asks his players to do in areas and situations. Very, very interesting....But WHY!....If he was our manager I'd be really p*ssed off and worried...Why is he explaining to anyone watching Sky, how he sets up and how he sets up to combat certain situations!? He's doing his rivals job for them, isn't he!?
Just seen that Burnley are 2-0 up against Watford with w very precise headers. When last did we score a goal from a header, or even force the keeper to make a save???
Fully deserved, too. Apart from a snapshot by Deeney Watford have been largely anonymous as an attacking threat. Burnley close to a third just now but the keeper to the rescue. Hard to believe Watford beat ManUre 3-1 so recently on this display.
Exactly what I was thinking!!! Though I don't think they'd have beaten the ManUre team that played on Saturday.
Well, after that performance, there'll be storm clouds over Vicarage Road tomorrow. But it will be bright and sunny above Turf Moor Well played Burnley, especially Hendrick and Boyd
