I don't think it's time to give up on him just yet and certainly the management staff haven't, but it is definitely at a point where we need to take some pressure off him to deliver and sign an extra striker. For the benefit of him and the team. I really hope he can pull through though.

He's proved me wrong too. I thought he was a good standard for where we were but never did I think he was a future PL player. It just goes to show how many lower league players can make it if given the chance.

The most shocking thing isn't even his growth as a player...it's that he's apparently the most lethal header of the ball in English football. 11 of his 13 goals with West Ham have been via his head, including all five this year; no one in the PL has scored more over that time frame.

That's quite impressive, the thought of him up against Cedric is not a pretty one.

Not giving up yet. There's been glimpses. It's going to be tough for him but let's see how bad this groom injury is? It might be that his re-adjustment of running style and all the extra building he's been doing is causing the problems and maybe too many problems.

I think he needs to play regularly this year if he's going to make it.

I never knew Johnson was his physio...

If the staff have done their, not too difficult, homework then we might see Cuco playing.

For sure, and from what I've seen so far he deserves a place on merit anyway. He did have full games against Palace and Sparta though so who knows with the rotation policy?

Did Jay have injury problems before the Man City knee thing?

As for West Ham, I hope that their lack of full backs will mean Antonio in the back four.

I assume that includes the first one, where Wanyama blasted it directly at his face on the floor and it looped in. If that never happened I'm convinced he would never have stayed in the team.

You are spot on. I have sore legs and my feet are killing me following some bike riding and even a bit of football (dusted off the Astros after a few years), but I must sit in the Rickie/Graziano mould because I have advised the wife I will push through the pain and walk briskly to the pub tonight if she fancies a drink.
I'm sure you're her hero :emoticon-0171-star: :D

West Ham's new pitch is 5 metres longer then their old one, and their defence is looking fragile. A few balls over the top for Long to chase could cause them all sorts of bother. When he wins a penalty, sub him off for Austin. After Austin scores, sub him back off for Long, and keep repeating the same trick.

It's not exactly rocket science!

And how much did that extra 5 meters cost eh!? :)

They are arrogant on KUMB (which makes it a good read when they lose) and so were the ones that I met during our Championship days. Using that as evidence I've decided to tar them all with the same brush and label them as a bunch of loud mouth geezers who need to be put in their place. I'm sure there must be some good unbigoted Hammer fans out there but that doesn't fit in with my own bigotry. Hope Saints stuff them but they probably won't.

Akabusi is a good lad.
