You may think they´re going for a burton
Those new boys from up on the Trent,
But one thing that we can be certain
They´re led by a tough little gent

And although our start´s been uplifting
Now´s no time to let down our guard,
Or else the power could be shifting
Even here, in our own backyard

    This league has proven already
That favourites aren´t favourites down here,
And just when you think the ship´s steady
    A tsunami wave will appear

But good to have a winning feeling
And even a rare Cup run,
As recently we´ve hit our ceiling
Well before this stage is done

And although any success is relative
It´s better in almost every way,
Than a Premier League life full of negatives
Where every mistake´s made to pay

Just maybe our young able leader
Also feels more at home down here,
He seemed overawed, and the speeder
We seldom hit, up there, last year. OTBC

I hope KIO hasn't put the mockers on things, it's very dangerous to think we just have to turn up, Burton are no mugs as they showed last season on their way to promotion!

Nothing negative about showing some respect, what do you think Burton's players will make of your statement? They won't need their manager to gee them up, you'll have given them all the motivation they need!

It won't be a walk-over. Nigel Clough is a canny manager and Burton will be well up for it.

I expect a good win for City but it would be wrong to underestimate anyone in this division and Burton more than others as they do have goals in them.

    Brilliant as usual RBF..
Let's hope AN doesn't change the team too much from the one that won at Forest last week and whilst I'd love a convincing win, we'll only achieve that through hard work and passion. I'd love us to see our GD a few more positive, but I'm wary that Burton will have nothing to lose and will give our defence a tough test.

I admire your positivity KIO, just don't write off Burton as no hopers, I too think we will win but we'll have to work for it, there's no such thing as a gimme in this division! <ok>

Well considering you´re insanely positive when we do well, and equally, mind-crushingly negative when we do less than well, and have a hugely inflated view of what our Club is capable of without its current owners, and a grudgingly low opinion of what it can achieve, with , I´d say you display all of the above faces and probably a few more. <whistle>

<sorry> but you did raise the point yourself.

Got offered a ticket to this from my cousin a week ago. Turns out, he mixed up his dates. His dad isn't on holiday that day.

    Thought I had a ticket. Don't now.

I'll admit to being wary of them and just hope AN instils that into the squad ahead of 3pm!!!

I'm optomistic that for now complacency has left the building. There have been a number of good performances in the last couple of games and they should all know (well maybe not Olsson!) that they are playiong for their place in the team. If Burton arrive wanting to play football and taking the game to us, then all the better, because a sterile affair with attack vs defense and us huffing and puffing and struggling to score a goal will further tension the CR faithful.
The reason I believe we will win well is simply that if we're on it and we are showing some more recent signs that we could be, there are few that will live with us in this division.

I'm going for 4-0 just incase Burton are not feeling motivated enough after KIO's prediction.

    Bah!

We should win at least 2 - 0, but as we struggled at home against Wigan, who were also promoted along with Burton Albion last season then I might be too optimistic? Our next game, away to Newcastle will be the stiffest test to date and a draw would seem a good result. But, having beaten Everton away without most of the regular starting XI, then we should be feeling pretty confident about playing any team in the Championship. What we do know is that our team is unpredictable.:emoticon-0107-sweat

Massive dilemma for AN today. Should he reward the 11 that won so well at Forest or reward some of the players that did so well at Everton? Which ever way he goes there will likely be criticism on here from some for wrong choice of team.
