are you basing how highly you rate stockdale on the fact he got called up to the england squad or on what you have seen of him? he is a good young keeper, but so is ruddy. england have such a shortage of keepers that a different one gets called up each squad. who knows, maybe ruddy will be next. what i do know from seeing stockdale is that you'll have the same issues dealing with crosses that fulop has...

Oh my goodness. You've not seen much of Stockdale then. He is a class act, not far behind Schwarzer. Fulop doesn't even register on the scale. Out of your depth.

you have hit the nail on the there yorkie, what we have that they don't is somebody who can finance us in the premiership IF we get there! the budgies are relying on another fluke season and perhaps selling a couple of car parks to finance themselves.

another fluke season? <laugh>

how bitter are you lot?! you are judging a team on paper and not on its ability, just like you did last season when we compared our respective squads. its not about having a benefactor - its about being able to survive self-sufficiently, and this is the precise point i was making to yorkie when i said evans cash has been the undoing of your club - you have ideas above your station - you feel because you have money you should be promoted. well you're all wrong - it takes good management and hard work for that to happen, something you've not been able to find as a club.

QPR fans said they would spend millions and millions and millions with their billionaire owners. As far as I can see, they've spent 1.25m on transfer fees!

i've seen him 3 or 4 times in the flesh yorkie, probably the same amount as you! more than enough to make up my mind. he is good, don't get me wrong, but if you think you've signed the future england number 1 you are sadly mistaken.

also, he could leave at any time!

when at any point did i or anybody say that we should be promoted because we had money? I said IF, sounds as if your inferiority (sic) complex has surfaced again.

Supers it was a fluke season! You were a good side in a poor division compared with previous years. There was no Newcastle, West Brom or Birmingham to compete with and fair play you took full advantage. The thing that did it for you was the momentum from winning League 1 the year before and being able to make a few shrewd signings. It wasn't rocket science so please don't pretend otherwise! <ok>

how is it a fluke though? you can only beat what is in front of you. your club weren't able to do so! its funny, but didn't leeds and millwall both have momentum too? didn't see either of them get promoted... you are all incredibly bitter at what we have achieved and it really, really comes across.

i'm off - this thread is as bitter as i can take...

QPR are a lot stronger than Norwich. They can compete this season because they already signed Premier League quality players that saw them run away with the title.

As for Stockdale - he's moved his family to Suffolk and he's talking about wanting to win the title with Ipswich. Unless Schwarzer gets injured for more than a couple of games then Stockdale will be staying put.

" We'll sell the vast mojority of our allocation be fore that game. I'd be suprised if there are not at least 4500 Norwich fans at that one. Doesn't change the fact that there will be 20,000+ fans who would have gone to a game at Carrow Road who will be at a loose end that day. "

Well if their as interested as you say, the 20,000 will watch the match via the internet on livestream

All the prem 3pm's are available to watch

True, well that's my idea out of the window then. What on earth ARE Ipswich going to do about all those empty seats?.....

So then Lambchop at the start of game said "ok boys lets just hold them till the 97th minute and then scramble one in" if that is the basis that you class a good manager on, and think that will work in the premiership you really don't know what you have let yourselves in for.

Leeds didn't have momentum, they were way ahead of the league and lost the momentum when Beckford's head got too big, they scraped over the line and then sold their biggest asset to Everton.

" Of course Norwich only buy the best players from other clubs don't you Supers!

Shame they're all from struggling Championship and League 1 Clubs! "

Well, perhaps if idiot Keane had done that with us then we MAY be in the prem by now.
When that idiot took over, Norwich were in League 1. A division below us. We had the money etc everything that summer for Keane to assemble a squad - look what rubbish he bought. A truly idiotic manager and glad he's gone.

What I will say is hats off to Norwich for what they've achieved - lets see how they do in the prem.

We'll do a lot better this time around. I have faith, and I like the looks of this side. In my mind the midfield has balance for the first time since Royle's tenure, and FINALLY we have a striker who can score. That goes a long way.....

Whether is Holt ( dare I say ) Bent or whoever, a team DOES need a striker to tuck the ball in the net.

So lets see what happens this season for both.

Be great to play you in the cup.

Makes me laugh all this slating our signings because they don't know anything about them. Suppose Ipswich would survive easily by signing players with over inflated reputations and ego's to match? We have been down that route before and it nearly finished our club off.

Just beacuse a player has not yet been given a chance to earn himself a reputation does not necessarily make him a worse footballer than one who has. In fact, quite often the oposite. The beauty of this Norwich squad is that they are all very talented individuals who have something to prove. On top of that, the man management skills of Paul Lambert mean we have a group of players that are actually friends. They are mates with each other and so will give that little extra to help out a team mate. It is a squad that has some very talented parts, but the main thing is that the whole is more than the sum of the parts. There is a little extra there that I believe not many in the prem have.

There is a lovely balance to this group of players, the majority have been here a little while now, they know the way we play well, they know each others game.

Even IF Norwich come up a little short that spirit will remain.

On an earlier post somebody here mentioned West Brom and how they will be a force this season. How did they do it? They were promoted a few times and suffered a few relegations, but each time they went up they strengthened in a prudent manor and on relegation they held on to the majority of their players which ensued a swift return. While I think the strengthening of this Norwich side has been done in a similar fashion, I do believe we have assembled a better squad of players than West Brom ever got relegated with.

QPR ran away with it? 4pts! Not exactly a landslide.

<laugh> Superman admits defeat on this one.

And Kenny - im sure even you budgies know they had plenty to spare and took their foot off the gas.
