Different era and different football with different rules. I watched these players in their prime and there is no way they would stand a chance with their counterpart today.....The sport has moved on tremendously since they were players with sports science a big factor today, Players are much leaner and fitter today but in their era they were one of the best......

BBC reports:

"Midfielder Leon Britton is expected to face the press ahead of Swansea's home fixture against Manchester City in the EFL Cup.

There's sure to be questions about manager Francesco Guidolin, who in recent weeks has been under scrutinyover his relationship with some players."

I thought the game was tonight, my son just text me to say it was tomorrow and I actually felt quite relieved that I don't have to suffer the game tonight. I have to say I am ashamed that I don't want to go.

Different era, and doubtful if they would get a game these days. But they were a formidable trio back in the day.
Personally, I think that Colin Bell, in particular, would thrive in any era. If he had the benefit of today's training, dietary & fitness regimes, he would be awesome.

Don't get me wrong I admired them immensely, and Bell was "awesome".

Those three, plus Best, Law and Charlton were always a joy to behold.

I seem to recall Law scoring 6 or 7 goals in an FA Cup Tie, only to end up on the losing side.

Hi Vetch - I didn't think for a second that you were doing them down. Today's players are fortunate in so many ways - the quality of the playing surfaces, the training regimes etc etc and of course the money.....

Summerbee was in away Directors Box for the final game of last season - guess he will be there again on Saturday (if not tomorrow as well!)

I really worry about these upcoming games against Man.City.
If they take the Cup tie seriously, they could get 4,or 5. They will take the League game very seriously and I fear an avalanche..
But, I've been wrong before, and we may even score.

To be honest the game I'm not looking forward to is Saturday when they will have a full team out especially if Aguero has served his suspension.
