"Braveheart, post: 9720098, member: 1016291"]Well, I was at the game against Wigan and the fans CERTAINLY got behind the team!!![/QUOTE] What really pisses me off is people saying we should get behind the team. As I've stated before my season ticket spend is over £2000, I attend every home game and some away games. I stand and sing the song, I cheer when we score...what the fuc3k else do you want me to do. My first game was in 1959, is any of that NOT getting behind the team?? I guess the majority of people who say that don't actually attend games!!!
Whilst it would be good to see Pritchard start, I would really like to see Naismith start his path to redemption. We either need him to play well and help us get promoted and stay up after that or play well enough to persuade some PL suitors to take him off our hands for not too bigger loss. Bah!
The primary aim of this season though is promotion, not to recoup something on an £8m flop. Win promotion and financially we're much better off than if we manage to sell Naismith for £80m, never mind breaking even. I'm not sure on current showings that Naismith has shown enough that we should risk playing him regularly when we have better options that help a promotion push more.
Very true but we may be better placed to do so if we A] Have a fit and firing Naismith B] Money from Naismith to reinvest in January Of course if we fail to get promoted that £8M will not so easily be written off. Bah!
True, and that being the case, if he can't get a game in a fairly meaningless cup competition, he'll never get to play at all? I'm sure AN hsn't totally written him off yet, but SN needs to show some appetite and work rate soon, or it won't be long before he does.
I'd rather if Naismith's got the hump, we didn't give Pritchard the hump as well, by playing Naismith just to massage his ego. Naismith has had a chance and blew it's now time to give Pritchard a chance. Naismith can have another chance when those in front of him falter or get injured.
I'm sure Naismith can get into some of the U23 U21 development squads but he's not worth risking in the league or proper cups.
I'd forgotten the next game was a cup fixture, in which case fair enough rotate a bit and give him a chance. If he impresses, great, if not then I'm not sure I want to risk him starting league games just for the sake of trying to sell him.
What's the betting we get thumped by Burton on Saturday? More likely, as I think I have a ticket for that and will be my first live game of the season.
