Thank you very much, Canario <grr>
With that news, lashing rain and fearsome thunderstorms above my roof, I'm tempted to go back to bed and write today off!!

We could have another RvW situation with Naismith. Looks like we won't be loosing him anytime soon. Will he be training with the U18? Most fans are good judges of how committed players are on the pitch and are willing to live and let live but I don't think we are going to give him peace. When you are earning what he is earning you should deliver performances

Any kind of curling effort on target from him would do at this point .

Worringly, reports in Sunderland say that they will NOT be renewing their interest in him. they will look for a younger GOALSCORER for the future.

Interesting article Dave. Naismith is a genuine sort of guy given the charity work he did for the homeless in Liverpool. Other than Toffolo in Swindon, I can't think of many footballers doing anything like that. I think it was 1950Canary who met him and said what a warm and genuine sort of bloke he is. I'd guess that having his family in Norwich would make a difference to him and hopefully to his play as well.

Fair article Dave, but as an £8M buy, I don't feel he warrants the same 'arm round his shoulder' treatment as the Murphy twins. He needs to show that he really wants to work hard and earn his place in the squad/team.

Absolutely - for that sort of money and with his vast experience, he ought to be one of the leaders on the pitch, setting the tone by example and guiding and helping the Murphys while on the pitch when AN is powerless to do anything.

Sorry but we didn't buy him because he's a nice genuine guy and does charity work. I always give the homeless people in the City a quid or two, and I don't have the money that jerk has! :emoticon-0181-fubar

As I said when I posted the article, I expected many to dismiss it out of hand, especially when he's a ready made scape goat, but then, I live a million miles from CR and have a childish sense of humour so what do I know?

I didn't say we did, ILD. IMO, the current scapegoat just becomes a target for some people for whatever reasons. My interest is in the team, which will be better off if Naismith contributes to our season and worse off if he is driven out by animosity.

If Naismith's family have now relocated to Norfolk/Norwich then it would seem that he is not in a hurry to leave CR. Seems strange that if this was the case just a few weeks back then why would he consider a move to Sunderland with his family on their way to Norfolk? I hope that his domestic situation is sorted soon and that his family enjoy the wonderful Norfolk life. Perhaps Mr Naismith will now start to earn his considerable wages?

After yesterday's fluid and fluent performance, he'll have to bust the proverbial gut to even force his way back into AN's reckoning for selection. I can't see there being too many changes for Burton Albion next week, unless forced by training ground tweaks or illness <ok>
