I find it totally hilarious that his precious Mr Lambert has since spent time at Villa and Blackburn yet Tescopolis still bears a sizable grudge towards his feathered foes only

I think he's put a finger on each hand up at the people who said he's useless.
It's been much tighter than it should have been, but he is doing his job at the moment. Under a lot of pressure. I think a win away at Forest is a very good result. Nice to get a 3 points before their takeover kicks in and they spend like most other clubs are.

Now up to 2nd in the league with 9 points from the last 3 games. Clearly AN and the team could do no more point’s wise from the last 3 games and todays performance was an improvement on the last few games. I guess it would be easy to get carried away, but hold on, what position are the teams we've played so far currently in

The highest place team we've played is Birmingham in 8th who thumped us 3 - 0
The highest placed team we’ve beat is Bristol in 13th.
Of the 8 games we’ve played only 1 team is 10th or higher and we’ve played none of the top 6 teams.
Of the 5 wins we've had 3 of those have been against the bottom 3 teams.
Still not convinced our current position is any real indicator of how well we're doing, although today’s result suggests that perhaps performances are starting to go in the right direction and I think all of us would have been more than happy with our current position in the table now at the start of the season if not the performances.
The next 3 Championship game are against Burton, Newcastle & Wolves and I think after the Wolves game we’re be in a much better position to judge if we’re likely to be challenging for promotion
I still don’t think AN deserves the faith some have in him, but points wise he could have done no more since the Birmingham fiasco. I’m really not convinced he’s the man to take us back to the PL, but he clearly earnt some more time to get things right.

Are we far enough into the season for this level of analysis to be relevant.
A single loss has a significant effect on position so logically the teams we have beaten will be lower down.
Frankly the table is only really worth paying attention to in term of position after 10 to 15 games. Detailed discussion about the standard of our wins isn't applicable yet.
Also you can only play what's in front of you anyway. And given we're second we're clearly doing that alright.
If we could sustain the main players fitness levels and continue to play to the level we did to today,
all else is largely academic
I thought I'd start it early and see where it takes us. I agree with the comments about more games need to have been played before we pay too much attention to our position in the table, in fact that's one of my points. Although you do kind of contradict yourself by saying that given we're second we're clearly doing alright. Only in terms of position, but our performances against the teams we've played tell a different story. I guess at this point its fair to say that unless performance levals change it looks like we're get wins against team in the bottom 3, get mixed results against teams in the middle third and probably get beat by the top teams. We'll see.
