Kids supporting QPR

So, my son is 5, and is learning the way of the hoops early.
Just wondering how many fathers and mothers here are expecting their kids to be drawn into a lifetime of suffering!
Should this be allowed? Surely is the same as religious indoctrination. As a thought, I have a mate who is a hammers fan, yet his kids support Chelsea!

Yeah, my son is nearly 14, and has had it drilled into him since an early age that QPR is the only team tolerable in our house - he dallied with the idea of Arsenal for a short time, but this was short lived as "Santa" decided to deliver him a QPR kit for Christmas (I've posted this before), and Santa always knows what's best for children!!!

The major problem we have here though, is the majority of his peer group are either Rangers or Celtic, so he definately stands out in his QPR kits, which he still wears with pride at school PE sessions (yes, they are allowed to wear any kit they like, not just school issue stuff).

He's only been to HQ once, at New Year when we lost to Hull, but absolutely loved it - keep the faith Surrey, your son will soon be suicidal like the rest of us!!

Luckily I had daughters and the kind that are not in the least bit interested in football. The QPR supporting lineage stops with me and thus the curse and dread of Saturday afternoons and Tuesday nights will thankfully die with me.
I had some great times watching the teams of the seventies and even going to a Cup Final and replay but in the main supporting Rangers has been torture!

My oldest is an r through and through - he's a gymnast.
The youngest, has all the talent, plays in the local first team and has always supported Chelse- might have something to do with him having an arse like Drogba!

My eldest daughter, who is now 12, came home from school about 5 years ago and declared that she wanted to support Chelsea as all the kids in her class did and they told her QPR were rubbish. I promptly told her to pack her bags and go and live with her grandparents ( my in-laws ) as my Dad was Rangers. In floods of tears she pledged her allegiance to the hoops. Her younger brother and sister have since followed suit and we were all at Loftus road on Saturday vs Blackburn.

I have a 4 year old (conceived the day we signed Joey Barton, no joke) who wears his QPR kit proudly to "Little Kickers". Where we live is predominantly West Ham (his Mum's an Iron) with a fair amount of Arsenal and Tottenham so whether he stays a QPR fan as he goes through school remains to be seen. I'm hopeful that in a couple of years he'll come with me to Loftus Road and be bitten by the terrible, terrible, bug.

His 6 month old brother will get his first kit this Christmas, if I can get 1 out of the 2, I'll be happy enough.

My dad's dad was a big Arsenal fan and took my dad a lot before he started going to Rangers with mates when he was old enough. Supporting QPR is often crap but preferable to following any of the top clubs imo. Lots of people I've not seen for a long time will remember I'm a QPR fan.

I'm 26 so was born just too late to see us being any good and just in time for 20 years of utter ****e.

Good thread..........

I was indoctrinated into the R's sect at a young age by my father........50 plus years of mostly misery but interspersed by the odd moment of unmitigated joy that will live with me for ever.........

Sadly or not as the case may be there will be no follow on legacy of R's support when i eventually fall of my mortal coil.......

5 generations now from The Jowers. My Grandad,Dad,Me,Son (Daughter a gooner like her Mum) and of the 5 grandkids 4 are QPR and 1 like her Dad scumsea, although I do have pictures of her in a QPR shirt so if he gets a bit mouthy I put them up on Facebook. That's without Uncle, Aunts, Cousins etc as lived on the White City estate (Blaxland House) and before that Braybrook St so never had any intentions to follow other team. Am I glad I did? You bet.
 
I know somebody who has just started a relationship with a girl who lives in Shepherds Bush. She has a 6 year old son. The kid's father lives on Loftus Road but he had the kid supporting Man Utd. The person I know brought the kid to see his first live game at Loftus Road and bought him a QPR shirt. The kid loves the games and is now a big QPR fan. He even sings the songs to us. I am sure the Manu supporting Dad isn't too impressed. Kids like this are our future.
 
My two lads weren't given a choice as I believe the suffering should be passed on from generation to generation.
Interestingly three of the the other blokes I see going to QPR from this area take their children as well.
 
I met my partner at the beginning of the year. I've moved in with her and her 5 year old son. He came to his first game against Blackburn and has a QPR shirt. He has 2 QPR posters up in his bedroom. I may be sending him to the QPR Soccer Schools. So far I'd say the indoctrination is going well ;)

As I have posted before, I have a fourteen month old who now has two QPR shirts, one for when he was new born, and he got another one for his first birthday. His maternal grandfather is a tractor boy, and took him last summer to a farm to show him tractors and all things Ipswich. It won't work though...he sings 'shalalala Rangers...' with me each night whilst looking at the QPR poster in our flat, then goes to sleep with images of Loftus Road running through his little mind. Indoctrination has well and truly started, although he seems to wake up every night screaming having had nightmares...surely the two aren't related are they...?
 
I haven't pushed my ten year old. He has a season ticket at Norrköping, sees every game and has been to LR "only" seven times. When asked about his favourite team he says QPR and when asked about ambitions he says that he wants to play for QPR.
He has a porkpie missing from his picnick!
