Sky Sports have chosen Tottenham v Sunderland to televise this Sunday. Sunderland's 4th televised league game of the season (from 5).

The match will be refereed by Mike Dean and his assistants are S Long and I Hussin. Andre Marriner will be the fourth official.

Sunday's encounter sees the black cats travel to White Hart Lane to play Spurs. The two have met a few times (have looked at six different sites and got different number on each!) times in the past, Sunderland have won 30 compared to Spurs 49 (according to 11v11) with 37 draws. Soccerpunter.com says 105 times played with 35 wins for SAFC, 42 for Spurs and 28 draws. Whereas Sunderland-mad says 108 played, 35 wins for SAFC, 45 for Spurs and 28 draws - either way they've won more than we have!!The clubs first encountered each other way back in 1899 in an FA cup tie which went the way of this weekend's hosts (2-1).

Tottenham - 45 wins
Sunderland - 35 wins
Draws - 28

Form:
Tottenham: L-L-D-W-D-W
Sunderland W-D-L-L-D-L

Squad selections

Tottenham:

Spurs have almost a clean bill of health with only Danny Rose missing at present

Sunderland:
According to PhysioRoom - Lee Cattermole, Billy Jones and Steven Pienaar should be available to face Spurs on Sunday. Sunderland are still without long term absentees Seb Larsson, Fabio Borini and Vito Mannone. Victor Anichebe, ironically, has picked up a thigh strain in training and will miss the trip.

Previous meetings:
One of the previous meetings between these two saw this collectors piece:

It gave the lead to Sunderland but they were eventually thrashed 4-1 by the hosts.

Last season saw the same scoreline:

Ones to watch

Tottenham

Harry Kane - goal machine last season until the latter stages and now seems to have found his boots again recently after breaking his duck for the season.

Sunderland
Who else - Jermaine Defoe - scored in his last 6 away games although he doesn't score many against previous clubs (conspiracy theorists beware)

Thanks @Bri OBE for the following bit of trivia

Papy has been involved in the most aerial duels this season, 15, winning 75% of them, Next is Jack Rodwell with 11 winning a very dominant 100% of said duels.
  • Adnan Januziaj heads the take-on list with a busy 17, skinning 81% of his opponents. Last years top dribbler Duncan Watmore has fizzled down to 2nd play attempting 9 take-ons only winning 45%
  • Papy has been the busies of our two CBs with 22 Clearances, 14 Interceptions and 4 Blocks. Kone more quiet with 18 Clearances, 5 Interceptions and 1 Block.
Sunderland really do need a win more than Spurs - so for that reason, I think Spurs should roll over and let us beat them (although I know they won't!)

Thought the numbers looked wrong - just went for 11v11 as I use them most weeks and they're in my favourites! Cheers mate I'll correct them

Use the Stat Cat for head to heads mate. It's **** hot. I used 11vs11 to copy the last 5 fixtures because it copies and pastes without loads of needless **** being copied at the same time so there's less to delete. I could never be bothered to type out the results you see.

Here's a bit of trivia I've put together @marcusblackcat. You can pop it in op if you want or just leave it here if you feel it's close enough to the top.

@Bri OBE is there any way to embed this onto the OP? (or the thread for that matter) - I can;t find the video link and it's not on the SAFC youtube channel

Nah mate, no chance at all. The only thing you could do is get some recording software, record your desktop while it's playing then host and embed your own recording but it would be removed the second the Club find it and they'll be sending you threatening letters out with repeat offences. Not worth it. Better off just putting the link in the op or wait till it goes to print and publish your selected quotes. I always went with the latter for presentation.

Cheers Bri - have added it to the OP

Spanky spanky spanky.!!! Another spanking on the way for you boys I think.! When you drop down next season, you should manage a few draws at least.
Moyes is a joke, as is your club.!!

Both of our new signings look promising to me, and with Kone committing himself for now, we have almost but not quite, got back to our end of season squad.
Its now up to Moyes and his training staff to forge us into a hard to beat unit, as this is the first step to climbing the table, owauw.

We are premier league. You need to spend 57 million to get out of the championship. And you all support a nonce every time you fat greedy ****s shovel a stake bake down your gullet. So It's it not all bad for us. <party>
