I'm suprises there is no UK equivalent of Laytown-Great free day out for the family,nice sea air and beach horsies racing each other:cool:

Jamie Osborne has a horse in each race at Laytown! De Sousa at Yarmouth. Crowley at Chipotle!

Surely we could get a listed race at Butlins Minehead?? Imagine the chaos <laugh>
 
It may be a bit of a side show, but as already alluded to, this Jockey Championship could be the best thing about the flat season (Glorious Goodwood was enjoyable).
It could provide us with some chances to build a pot heading into the NH season.
So, what could we get from today? Is there money there just waiting to be claimed? Or am I simply deluding myself that this improves chances of winners?
No matter about these questions, I'm sure you'd have to agree it adds something to a Tuesday in September! (Yes, I'm a marketing man's dream)
Recent days would suggest that this concluding month could in fact be the best way to spend some pennies and make a profit. Both jockeys have had doubles and trebles on recent cards.
Here's the bookings for each contender today:

JC - Chepstow
2.10 Trading Punches
2.40 Pastfact
3.10 Jazz Cat
4.10 Desert Tango
4.40 Angelical
5.10 Medburn Cutler

SDS - Yarmouth
2.20 Muthmira
2.50 Hurricane Rush
3.50 Odeon
4.20 Basil Berry
4.50 Cockney Island
5.20 Discreet Hero

I've highlighted what I believe (my own opinion, that's all, no particular reason other than my excellent record of spotting a winnner, ahem) to be the best chances for each jockey. I'm picking 2 out of the 3 from each and putting 4 horses in a Lucky 15 as follows:
Jazz Cat, Desert Tango, Hurricane Rush, Discreet Hero

I aim to enjoy this race for the Championship, win or (most likely) lose.

As it's been brought up in yesterday's and today's thread.

Through skybet I got.....12/1 on sunday, 13/2 yesterday. It's 4/1 today so going for the hattrick of a Crowley/SDS double. Looking at the cards, today definitely looks a lot tougher so could come down to their last race again.
 
Good afternoon good folks <ok>

Acroleina 9/2 Laytown 3.35 - won this race last year off 57 and even to look at his current figures since would put you off, but delve a little deeper and you can see he hasn't been beaten much more than about 5.5 lengths most runs and as a result has dropped back to a nice mark of 49, 8 lbs lower than when winning this race 12 months ago. He has been gambled on early last night I saw betfair had opened him up about 8/1 so it's no surprise given his favourable mark that they are having a tickle today. Looks rather like he's been laid out for the day so hopefully that's the case. War Room is in great form but will have to run right to his mark and more to win this.

Strait Of Zanzibar 9/4 Laytown 5.05 - won last year also very easily here off 78 and today goes off 80 having slid down a few lbs over the season. Ken Condon is in decent form and Pauline Condon claims 5 off his back for today and as such means the horse is really well treated on a surface we know he relishes. Fairy Foxglove is in a rich vein of form lately but has a hefty 8 lb rise for his recent form to burden him but it would be no surprise were he to challenge us most.

USA 13/2 Laytown 5.35 - sticking with the theme here and another with a fondness for the surface. 4 lbs lower than when a well clear 2nd here last year, 13/2 is fair and wouldn't be a surprise to see him gain his first won for over 500 days on the beach. The sea air must work wonders for the old man's lungs.

3 selections for the beach racing, enjoy if you are attending.

Jeez, you'd never believe that first race at Chepstow, it was like they moved over for Crowley!
Then, De Sousa gets one straight back at Yarmouth!

What happens if a race in which you have a horse in a Lucky 15 is abandoned ? The last at Yarmouth fits that bill?

Runner is void and if your bookie pays any bonus such as double or triple odds for one winner you won't get that. However if the other 3 win it'll still be a decent return and works out better than having 3 winners and a loser so sometimes a non runner can help in lucky 15/31/63.

In profit straight away with Crowleys first there at 25/1. Then De Sousa fires one straight back, gotta love it.
