... you mean like .. which club has NEVER won the Premier League but if you go back far enough might have won some European Cups when they were relatively non-competitive? ........

oooh .... oooh ......... don't tell me, don't tell me .... Blackpool? .. no .... Hartepool .... no ... Oh I give up .... we'll have to google it <laugh>

That's poor from your point of view Fossy. 2005 was very competitive. In 3 years we got to 2 finals and won it once.

Now we own the trophy. You should have popped in and had a look when you visited.

Careful @Skylarker

Fosse is being Passive aggressive again.

no good fam.

No! Not flukiest or luckiest they won it by merit but I think you're trying to say it they were the most unlikely winners.

This. Unlikely not lucky.

Nothing can take away that achievement either. The OP wrote this thread knowing that his own team, having not won it since 1961, had blown their best chance since to little ol Leicester.

It's a thread borne of bitterness and given how Leicester are champions it goes down as another wum **** up :)

Their achievement was amazing, no denying that.

But you must agree that in years to come it will be a quiz question? Similar to clubs like Forest and Leeds, plenty of quiz questions related to those clubs knocking around these days.

I'm teaching my lad about Leicester's season (he's 7) I'm hoping he'll get chosen for Sport on Eggheads when he's in his 30's.

He's close to blowing a gasket, as others have pointed out.

I have a feeling this PL board isn't the best place for Fossy this season, I almost feel sorry for him.

<laugh> this place is a respite from the pressures of the job .. won't be any gaskets blown here ... it's my R&R ... if you like, my holiday camp to your retirement home <laugh>

2 laughter smilies = getting a little rattled.

<laugh> <laugh> <laugh> 3 laughter-smilies means just enjoying your apparent irritation at trying to justify your fluke claim when only one club has won the EPL title with a bigger points difference in the last 10 years (Man United by 1 point more) ... so indeed a fluke <doh>

Don't get me wrong - even I feel sorry for Bambi. He is so naïve that he cannot possibly know the monumental embarrassment that LCFC is going to suffer this season.

I didn't create this thread lightly. I did weigh up the human tragedy element, when creating this thread, Sky. You have to believe me on that. I knew there would be some emotional fall-out from the Leicester boys, but I reasoned that it was worth it to tell the story of the Spiral, as tragic as it is undoubtedly going to be, mate.

... nothing my football team could do would embarrass me ... I've lived through some **** footie and **** times supporting them ... but they are MY football team and that is for life .... now I probably would find it difficult to cope with the embarrassment and humiliation of not keeping my word on a bet or forfeit ... but that's just me and the way I was brought up I guess <ok>

Good thinking, Sky. I have a 6 year old, I think I'll start gemming him up, too. Your lad will need the competition.

I'm schooling my lad with some devious nuggets of information, such as the fact that although LCFC won the league by 11 points, their talisman striker didn't win the Golden Boot. I reckon that's a couple of bonus points in the bag for my little sprog right there, mate!

Cheers!
<ok>

What? You mean my being required to change my avatar to one of Tony Adams?

Hello! Eyes left, Bambi...
