You clearly forgot to add the usual "IMHO" wrt your "garbage" comment. Your "typically American" jibe is both gratuitous and fatuous -- more becoming of an uneducated, English old fart, than a young person claiming to have a solid grounding in science. Where do you think many of the recent Nobel Prize winners and top universities are located these days? *****lia? Diego has eloquently detailed some of the points I was going to address, and I agree fully with what he has said. You are also casually forgetting the many "ancient technological" feats (multiple, similar pyramids worldwide , impossibly close-fitting stones, and much, much more) that we could barely match today even with current technology. The excellent AA series had many examples of such ancient, even prehistoric, allegedly 'human' achievements. I watched every season of the AA series (including contributions from several top-notch scientists I have personally known and respected for decades). I found the content to be generally of extremely high calibre (with just a few exceptions), and very well-produced and directed. Most of the contributors are well-respected in their respective fields, not just hack pseudo-scientists. Your estimate of the real-content ratio of AA is ridiculous. I pre-record everything I watch, and FF through all the ads, etc. Often I will go for a break (short or long), and the after-break recap is often very much needed and appreciated. Finally, I can absolutely assure you, based on decades of personal experiences, that a great (global) government-inspired cover-up of new scientific discoveries has been going on since at least the days of Tesla, arguably the greatest scientist since Newton. What the bastards also more recently did to Eric Laithwaite was disgusting. The ideas of both of these exceptional minds, and others, are now being pursued in quarters waaay beyond the sight of any government, and will be vindicated in the near future. It's going to be a very interesting next few years. I hope I live long enough to see the way it all unravels.
Got to be honest here Bengal, the pyramid thing is a bit of a red herring. If you assume humans all evolved at the same time (roughly) then it is fair to assume they would be starting to build structures around the same time. If you were starting today from a point of building small huts and maybe large meeting halls, then decided you needed to build a massive structure to honour your gods you would start with what you knew and fail. After many attempts you would come across a structure that was very stable and quite easy to build (a pyramid). The fact that all human species progressed at a similar rate (a few hundred or maybe couple of thousand years apart) is no surprise when you look at the past. By far the biggest and fastest advancements have occurred in the last 50 years and most of them have been out of the blue. That said, I watch AA and many of the carvings and pictographs make me think wtf? but Childress et al just make me laugh. I have a feeling that me, you and Sterling are saying very similar things but in different ways.
Again, I agree more-or-less with everything you've said here. This, alone, is a very rare phenomenon. Certainly, a first on this forum. I agree that my example of pyramids is arguable (as you've shown--unconvincingly--though we'll leave it there for now). Your response begs the question (as you clearly understand): WHY / HOW did ALMOST IDENTICAL genetic mutations from apes occur almost simultaneously ALL OVER THE WORLD to create almost-identical human beings? Darwin's ideas don't work (for me) here. Wouldn't different habitats demand rather more than just different skin colour to succeed?** Via Occam's Razor, the simplest (but most controversial) explanation, as detailed on AA and elsewhere, is alien (sexual) intervention. The amazing growth in scientific knowledge in recent times is, IMHO, the result of a separate (?) but similar intervention. For me, the biggest question is, WHO is controlling the governments that control the financial and education systems that control WHO gains and develops and applies information that mankind has never previously known? Surely it can't be the not606 moderators, or the unmoderated bad boys ... can it? ** I find it difficult to believe that genetics lead to the same inevitable conclusions as chemical interactions such as H2 + O = water, EVERY time. Good night.
My earlier reference to Mecca was all about the black cube the worshippers walk around and why there are black cubes seemingly placed at random around the planet. Together with university students at graduation wearing a black squares on their heads. They are all linked. My question regarding naves facing east was not connected to Mecca , I think Sterling assumed it was. Naves face east because the sun rises in the east.
My only criticism of the AA programme is all of it's content existed in films , books and theories years ago. The producers are not bringing anything new. I have watched most episodes , the producers seem to distance themselves from each subject by repeating the phrase 'ancient alien theorists say...' implying the theorists are not of sound mind.
Von Daniken's books are pretty much the basis for Ancient Aliens. They're certainly food for thought, but a frequent mistake is for them to make claims and imply they're facts when in reality they require a leap of faith, that taints some of the other stuff. They show images that they say depicts rockets the same design as our own, yet. those designs of ours designs can't get to alien life.
I've never been abducted or visited by aliens, but quite by accident ended up taking part in a study of abductees, which was really interesting. If the people you mention lived in real fear, then it shouldn't be too difficult to allay their fears. Their is a recognised medical condition that ticks the boxes for the basic elements of what people then ascribe to abductions. A look at the history of similar claims shows that the basic elements have occurred for centuries, but the interpretation has changed over the years. Older examples talk of hobbits and ghosts visiting in the night, more recently, they're described as 'aliens' and even more recently a description of "greys" is often given. It's related to which images are in popular culture at the time. Generally, people describe being totally paralysed, as if held down by an invisible force. Around them, they see one or more of the 'visitors'. The experience is described as giving a sensation of terror and they have various aches afterwards. When we sleep the body is controlled to stop us thrashing about. Sleepwalkers control is less than average. The abductees are more or less the opposite. The mind achieves a 'half awakening, but the body is locked. The more the person tries to move, the more restricted movement becomes. It leaves someone locked in a position, with their eyes open, and not fully awake. The struggle to move causes physical pain, and the effort can leave the victim stiff and aching. The mind is pre-programmed to decipher the messages from the eyes, and logs the shapes and shadows into 'known' categories. In these cases, the shadows become aliens. There are often specific things that can trigger episodes, even as simple as eating too much cheese.
Of the conspiracy theories I've seen, the rebuttals seem more valid than the claim, but I keep an open mind. If I had to plump for one choice, I'd go with Oswald, alone. A part of that is based on his behaviour after the shooting. I'm still not clear what his motives could be, but as another nutter thought a similar act would get him a shag from Jody Foster, despite her being a lesbian. I guess it could be anything.
If you are genuine, you'd have been better passing them to an experienced mental health professional.
