City was the better side overall
we lacked pace and workrate ,, Jose get his tactics wrong
tbh City are beatable but we should had started with Martial and Rashford and sure Fellaini shouldn't had started he was awful upfront where you need more quality passes.
Jose still experimenting, City showed good passing .. but they are so vulnerable at back in term of pace and highballs ..they will lose many points especially when CL start

City was the better team. Probably deserved to win.

But how did clattenburg not given a foul for a two footed challenge by the GK on Rooney ? Any other player anywhere else, it is a red card. He islike most of our refs a coward. Refusing to take big decisions if he can avoid them.

My favourite United player tbh. Sadly can't get a game.

We have so many options (and permutations) available in CM and AM it's ridiculous!
Hence why it is fkin stupid to keep playing Rooney in midfield when there are specialists for the role.

We needed pace and tenacity against City but didn't do that. Had we started with pace and flustered them from the get go, the game would have been very different.

Overall though, I ain't too mad. It's game 4. Still a long way to go. 2-1 ain't exactly a statement either expect for how we chased shadows in the first half.

I am not too disappointed. There is massive room for improvement. There was no pressing on the players at all and the midfielders had an off day. The 2nd half we gave them a game.

As long as some of the glaring issues are sorted, we will improve. We just couldn't put two passes together and City tbf played their best football I've seen them play for a long time.

Btw Rashford has made a very strong case for a start.

One of the key issues that I'm seeing is where we are playing Pogba. Why the hell would you spend ‎£90m on a player only to pin him down in front of defenders. It is a waste of his talent to not be able to go forward. We should build a team around these young players and get Rooney to support the team rather than remain the center of it.

The main difference between United under VG and now is they have added Zlatan so they have 2 tall players to hoof it to. Their best chances all seemed to be created by Bravo, who seemed to struggle with hoofs.
He's no Adrian that's for sure <whistle>

It's not Rooney making Pogba play deep though is it? It's the ineptitude that plays alongside him.

Put Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger or even Carrick in the position that Fellaini currently holds and this instantly gives Pogba more freedom.

If Rooney is to be dropped, and I like to see it happen now if only to shut you up, then I think Ibra would fullfill the link between midfield and attack well. Put Rashford at centre forward.

Martial on the left, Mata or Mkhi on the right.

And can we have defender's in defence please?

In my view, they won today because they had De Bruyne and all we had was Rooney. De Bruyne was full of running, finding space in useful areas of the pitch whereas whenever Rooney seemed to get the ball he was crowded out of it or made a crap pass.

Yeah? Well you're wrong.

All we had was Rooney? Laughable. What about Ibrahimovic, Lingard, Pogba, Fellaini, MkhitarIan?

They were there to watch i suppose?

What utter nonsense.

Pep on Bravo - "Claudio had one of the best performances I've ever seen," Guardiola said. "When you make a situation for the goal - after that he continued to play in our build-up and [went] for other long balls to pick them up.<laugh>

You were totally outplayed first half and second half City still had chances to kill it off. Lucky to only lose by one goal. Never a penalty or sending off so suck it up gloryhunters!!
