QUEENS Park Rangers will look to continue their fine start to the season when we host Blackburn Rovers at Loftus Road on Saturday.

In contrast Owen Coyle has endured a difficult few months after being appointed Rovers manager back in June with the Lancashire club only managing one point in their first five league games.

However there’s evidence that things may be improving during their last couple of fixtures. They conceded with virtually the last kick off the match after a decent performance against Fulham and before that managed a hard-fought point against Burton Albion.

It’s all gone a bit stale at Ewood Park over the last couple of years. Since their relegation from the Premier League in 2012 they have not once managed to finish in the top six and last season ended up in 15th position.

Their disappointing campaign led to the appointment of Owen Coyle who has previous experience of getting a Lancashire team out of this division back in 2009 when he did it with Burnley. He’s also had spells as a manager with Bolton, Wigan and most recently with American side Houston Dynamo.

Blackburn have mainly been fielding a flat 4-4-2 under Coyle and brought 12 players in over the summer including deadline-day signing Marvin Emnes on-loan from Swansea.

Do not think Luongo will start, jet lag and Tuesdays match...will mean he may get a rest.
Yeni, Ariel or Sandro will start instead...Shodipo may start this one, but give way for the Polish winger or Yeni
Otherwise agree....

This is why we need a flexible roating squad

I don't have a clue who will start Beth, that's why I stuck to more or less the same line up as our last few matches. I think it's right and proper that he introduces the new signings gradually by subbing them on and not displacing the established players that have started the season well. We don't want what happened v Forest again like last season.
The Polish winger isn't available as he's carrying over a one match ban with his former club.

Joel Lynch remains sidelined for QPR’s game against Blackburn Rovers, while new signing Pawel Wszolek is unavailable as he is suspended.

Lynch, who has not made a league appearance since his summer move from Huddersfield, recently returned to training after an abdominal injury.

But the defender is still not fit enough to rejoin the squad so will again be absent.

Wszolek, meanwhile, must wait for his debut because of a ban carried over from his parent club Hellas Verona.

The Polish winger, a pre-deadline signing on loan with a view to a permanent move, will be eligible for Tuesday’s game against Newcastle.

Another new signing, striker Idrissa Sylla, is in contention to make his QPR debut against Rovers following his arrival from Anderlecht.

Massimo Luongo has been on international duty with Australia and his fitness will be assessed ahead of this weekend’s game.

I'm excited about this!

Up the Rangers!

Rovers are not doing well and have a GD of -8. Hopefully we will add to their misery, BUT remember Preston?:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry:emoticon-0121-angry

I cannot see Luongo playing after his international break. In defensive midfield we may see Sandro or Cousins. I read that Borysiuk is still feeling his injury.

Luongo is in a nightmare situation with these internationals. His form dropped after the autumn internationals last season and never really recovered, this season there is real competition for midfield places.

Agreed. It must be time to give Cousins a go in his best position and if Luongo and Borysiuk are not 100%, I would rather see Sandro than Henry.
It will be a pairing of two from Sandro, Cousins and Henry then. Unless JFH decides he wants cousins still played on the right. How about this line up ...

Smithies
Onuoha Hall Caulker Bidwell
Sandro Cousins
Ngbakoto Chery Shodipo
Polter

That's how I'd go,but I expect JFH to go with Henry as the holding player and Cousins out wide !

jet lag

never bothered nelsen
and he was older and had further to travel
and he had to come back and defend against premiership strikers
Only for a few months with us Kiwi before he legged it state side.

The security bloke in the airport stops me this morning and says, "yis better ****ing win today". I says, why? He says, "cos I have a bet on yis and if yis don't win, I won't let you back in the ****ing country". There's pressure.
