Firstly, let's dispell the myth that there are 2 'armed camps' at war on here... there aren't and is just a convenient excuse for childish behaviour
HIAG enjoys the support of some of his fellow Spuds and Piskie of some Goons ... as I see it, largely, and as you might expect, on club grounds rather than anything to do with the individuals themselves ...
The rest of the posters on here (or the vast majority), IMHO, whilst perhaps temporarily being more irritated by one or the other from time to time, have no particular agenda or 'alliance' - HIAG's 'segment' protestations are purely his justification of anyone sticking him some and Piskie seeming to enjoy the spectacle - plus may also be a convenient way for HIAG to keep munging on about a particularly crap film that he has an apparent fascination for.
When the rest of us have a go at HIAG, it is invariably down to comments he makes directly or indirectly about either us personally or about our football teams - nothing more sinister or conspiratorial. Speaking personally I have no agenda against any other club in the EPL - I've thoroughly enjoyed sticking it to the 'bigger' clubs in recent times admittedly (and long may it continue). In this regard, HIAG has, to an extent, reaped what he has sown - he has used the PL board to make WUM threads aimed at different clubs or individuals (which is fair enough - I'm all in favour of the concept - it makes the board fun) ... but then gets overly touchy if a WUM thread blows up in his face and, consequently he gets the predictable derisory flak from his targets ... 'Betgate' is a prime example ... can be traced right back to various threads initiated by HIAG such as "The North London Power Shift" - at first wryly amusing to non-Goons - but eventually spiralling into excessive volume of complete personal crap - speculation, wishful thinking, irrational dislike and even malice..
That particular one led to one exasperated 'neutral' (albeit a bit of a ****e stirring WUM

@luvgonzo, challenging the author and his main protagonist to back their respective stances on the subject with a 'friendly' no money involved, bet. Seemed like a good idea to most. Both parties (eventually) having accepted the bet that should have been the end of it (at least in in terms of last season's football rivalry between the Spuds and Goons - or, more specifically between those two individuals on the subject)....but unfortunately it wasn't ... HIAG childishly failed to abide with the actual terms of the bet as outlined by
@luvgonzo (whatever the spurious bullshit he has since spouted to try and justify his actions) and now Piskie, just as childishly IMHO, is refusing to countenance any sensible solution to the absurd playground situation we now have on the board - on the pretext that HIAG obviously can't be trusted to keep to his word because of prior form.
So here we are ... a pathetic impasse between two grown men whose real problem may emanate from a football rivalry but has now comes down to neither able to accept losing face to the other ... both therefore now trapped in a perpetual spiral of "one-upmanship" posturing...

We don't need separate threads, we don't need ignore buttons - disagree on subjects, on match incidents on anything in fact! - take the piss out of each other's comments by all means, as long as it's current and relevant to the thread topic -that's the purpose of a public forum for me - but agree to now move on and commit to keeping the personal history between you out of the posts - because that's when it gets incredibly tedious for everyone else
