Galaxy tab is a work thing / hobby ( form reading) I will admit to buying the latest phones for this but hey they pay for themselfs and i enjoy doing it .
I hate to think what processor you are running on the old toshiba and how much time you waste waiting for a page to load. My last two phones have been running on octocore processors and i couldnt go back . The pages load quicker than i type .

You're right TC. Police came both times but they're basically useless. CSI also rocked up the next day on both occasions. The first time this gang had driven half way across West Yorkshire doing 4 houses. Getting a Range and an M5 and failing with mine and someone's M3 (he had 25 mins of cctv footage as they tried to break his lock). On the same night this weekend they raided someone's house and got 4 cars - a range rover, an m5, an m3 and a fiesta that was blocking them all in.

The police that came yesterday said it is essentially like the film Gone In 60 Seconds where there's a 'Mr Big' ordering teams of early twenty somethings about and they have lists of cars/houses to target. It happened almost exactly a month after the first go and both times it was raining - it turns out it is not possible to take a finger print when it's wet. What's most worrying is there appears to be someone watching our house and giving them the nod when it's 'safe' to do it. I used to do thousands of miles a month in the car in my old role with loads of time away so i'm so relived i'm now at home every night doing what i do now. Final worry is they have some balls - without sounding like a knob, i'm a big lad and last time i ran out with nothing on and chased them away. If they haven't been carrying any kind of weapon before i assume they probably will start to if they keep coming back.

you'd think it wouldn't be too hard to leave a tempting car as bait to entrap and follow the trail back to the organisers if this is multiple thefts to order -the desperadoes they use are just fodder - but it must be unnerving to know you're being cased ...... lights and noise are going to deter these scroats but it's a sorry way to live ......
I suppose the wealth inequality that has grown the last thirty years or so don't help - -- this is a feature of all societies that pursue such policies -

I realise how lucky I am living where few people have anything worth stealing , but it's a sad state of affairs when people will break in your house to get your car keys ..........

Chaps, an up and down life for me at the moment. Those naughty burglars came back last night and tried to break in again. Thankfully no bricks through windows and they couldn't get through the locks before I had the chance to wake up and confront them but it put us both on edge again.

Does anyone have any recommendations for home security bits and pieces you're using at your places that I could invest a pound or two on?

Take a look if you get time chaps. It's all craft, artisan producers. Basically light years ahead of the sugary guff you'll get in any supermarket but i'm buying direct from the producers so i can keep the prices reasonably low.

Really pisses me off hearing about stuff like this. ****ing scum they are. Your home should be your sanctuary, the place where you both feel most secure. Your missus especially doesn't need this sort of worry whilst pregnant.

I'm not surprised the police aren't much use hopefully with this latest recruitment drive they've had they'll have enough staff to deal with and care about crime other than rape, murder and terrorism.

For security all i'd suggest is light and noise as deterrents and good locks (sounds like you've got them already).

Must be awful having your home compromised like that and I can't imagine the worry and anxiety that goes with it. Let's hope the ****ers get caught soon.

Changing the subject I had a quick look at your website. Me and the wife like nice a bottle of red any in particular you can recommend?

Sir Barney, I know you said Moore is the best jockey riding today, and I'd agree with you, but I'd expect you to see events as they are. Moore rode a real shocker on Saturday and a lesser jockey would have been criticised for it. He rode it as if he couldn't lose and it reminded me of some of his riding 5 years or so back when he seemed to think he had to beat the whole field in the straight. If you are going to head this committee on saying who is to be the top jockey then please let us see a touch of balance and leadership.

The expression is quite old and was certainly used in the early '70s. But its recent popularity is due to its usage by a main character in Gavin and Stacey.

Whilst I'd agree Rudey that inequality is a huge issue it can't be used as an excuse for these feckless ****ers. They're bad people and need locking up for a long time when caught plain and simple.

Cheers bud. Appreciate the comments. It is a bit crap having the anxiety if I'm honest.

Reds - depends on what you tend to go for but my favourites are:

El Ilusioniste from Ribero Del Duero in Spain which should start to rival Rioja soon enough. Excellent bottle. Full of fruit. Quite jammy.

Anything by Garage Wine Co. They're run by a Canadian friend of mine called Derek who moved to the Maule Valley to make wine. There was an Earthquake in 2010 that killed off a lot of production in the region because the big producers (ie the stuff you'd get in a supermarket) couldn't rely on the roads in and out which meant the small farmers that used to sell via cooperatives couldn't get the trade any longer. Derek set up MOVI which looks after those farmers. Most harvest using their hands, a cart and a horse and instead of chucking it all in a big cask with grapes from all regions, they now make their own wine from their own grapes and the results are outstanding.

My final choice is a producer from South Africa called Blank Bottle. Run by Peter Walser, he makes 30 different types a year but most only get made once. It depends on the grape quality that year. Hugely innovative. A trailblazer in New World wine. Peter designs the labels himself and his three kids help seal them all in wax. It does help that he makes the best French grape varietal wines in South Africa. I have a lot of his wines that no one else in the UK has. The ones that are available are from one other supplier and they're on Michelin star restaurant wine lists at £100 a bottle. Mine, obviously, are a quarter of that price.

Yes, would admit he did seemingly give Stargazer a lot to do but I’m sure this was due, to a large extent, in the confidence he must have had in the old boy easily being able to pick off the 10 rivals in front of him. His positioning did though yes lead to the ‘trouble in running’ that Stargazer went onto suffer. However, on another day gaps would have appeared and he could have scythed through the field without a care in the world. Would I give Ryan 10/10 for that ride…no. But still think he is by some way the best in the business.

Ahhhhhhhh, yes ‘Gavin and Stacey’. One of the handful (if that) of sitcoms made since the turn of the millennium that are actually remotely humorous.
