I thought other than his poor first touch (which he did after a great run) Walcott looked pretty good when he came on. Real desire to try and make a difference. Alli and Walcott coming on sped everything up and pulled there defence about more which was otherwise finding it rather easy to defend against our static play. 75 mins onwards England looked like they might find the goal. I was surprised it took so long to get Kane off the pitch, he was **** for England as usual and we have so many striker options! Really boring stuff for large chunks of the game but then it came alive and got frantic towards the end which at least made it interesting to watch. I don't hold much hope for this group of players though unless they really step up or some big changes are made to the way we play. And I will say despite being shoe horned into the team, some of Rooneys passing was good quality and he takes a decent corner...which means Kane isn't taking them..
Didn't watch the game, but a 95th minute 0-1 win against ****ing Slovakia tells me all I need to know. They stop league footie for this ****?
Germany playing Norway tonight, always good to see Ozil play. Mustafi on the bench, the game is live on sky sports 3.
Germany are such a good team to watch. What the **** happened to the England team who beat them 2-3 back in March ?
I think the Spurs players are still in shock losing the league and coming 3rd after us. But the worst was losing 4-1 to Newcastle when everyone was beating them all season. I don't think the players have mentally recovered from last season...
It was the game against us at the Bridge, we rocked their **** by coming from 2-0 down and it shook them to their core. They lost their **** in that game and haven't recovered since. Spurs have only won one football match since then, and it was a scrapped 1-0.
Oh yes I forgot that. It was that game that started their free fall in the league. One thing I don't understand about them, why do they routinely implode at any given notice. No matter what manager or set of players they have, they always seem to find a way to Implode. It's fascinating yet funny at the same time. One thing is certain, Arsenal will always finish above them, no matter how badly we play or have half our squad out to injury, we will always finish on top.
It certainly seems that they are destined to remain in Arsenal's shadow. I started halfway through the season being like "Oh Spurs may finish above Arsenal, that will be cool for a change" Then as the season wore on, I found a lot of Spurs fans getting very swelled heads and becoming arseholes, prematurely, as usual as it looked like they may challenge for the title, so when you pipped them to second on the last day i found it hilarious. And before Spurlock jumps on me, I am not naming names, nor do I mean that Spurs fans on Not606 on particular became A-holes, just something I observed from Spurs fans I know in life, online and the ones who phoned in to talksport. They seem to have a habit of, when winning a few games, getting ahead of themselves and becoming too excited, before it inevitably goes to ****. Its not just the fans but the players too, with Kanes whole "We are coming for you leicester!" Shtick. Maybe that will teach them next time to hold their horses on the premature celebrations.
They weren't the only ones guilty of premature ejaculation last season. Our 'celebrations' after beating Leicester turned out to be a tad embarrassing.
The Kane war cry was certainly embarrassing, especially when he turned into donkey **** for the Euros, with his fellow **** Spurs players. The usual over hype of English players after 2 minutes of good play in the Premiership showed in their woeful showing in the Euros. Kane ane co still look shell shocked at the start of this season. I reckon Poch needs to send them to the funny farm for some intensive rehabilitation...
To be fair we blew it at the start of the second half of the season so we had no realistic chance of winning. We simply had no expectations. Spurs on the other hand did and spectacularly blew it in wonderful Spurs fashion.
Is going from 2nd to 3rd free fall? If I recall, you were top at one stage. That was the real bottle job. We never got on top of Leicester, but ironically you go on about us bottling . Disappointing to have not finished strongly, but 2nd or 3rd made no real difference. Taught me how big a player Dembele is, and also Alli to a degree. Not making predictions, but I think we'll have a good season. Our problem was too small a squad. Wanyama, Janssen and Sissokko (gulp) have improved that.
Why shouldn't we enjoy doing better than normal. Most proper Spurs fans were prepared for what actually happened, disappointment is in our DNA. Winning, one day, will be so sweet. It wasn't that long ago we couldn't even compete with you guys or Arsenal, now we are in amongst you.
Give me a break. Since 2005 every Spurs manager has been banging on about being 'ready to overtake Arsenal'.
