If we are looking for trends, we should look at the whole picture. Impressive win over a weak Blackburn team was followed by a hard fought draw with a SW team that beat Villa in their opening match. I didn't find it boring, but in any case that isn't the criterion where form is concerned. For some reason our 1-0 win over Bristol City was ignored. Didn't fit the trend? Ipswich away was reminiscient of the play-off game at PR and a reasonable result considering. Yes the match at Brum was awful, but it's the only one of our first 5 games that I would put in that category. Cardiff at home will tell us whether there is any trend or not, but I still fancy our chances.

Three of our matches this month are at home and as you say RER, we should be beating the likes of Cardiff or at least competing toe to toe to give the fans something to cheer and hopefully some of our injured players should be making a comeback during the month and so increase the 'selection headache' for AN.

It's too easy to make assumptions about what is going on behind the scenes. How much is agent speak in these transactions, how much is journos just making stuff up.
Which is where a few words from the manager or CEO would be priceless, explaining the state of play, reasoning behind decisions, etc, so that the twitterati et al ease back on the hysteria from time to time - and even if they persist, if fans have the official take on things, it prevents the said hysteria from becoming an epidemic! <ok>

Agree Cromer.

Old Jez could have made a statement couldn't he - Davie Mac was always reasonably vocal during the window but Mr Moxey seems to be the polar opposite.

Interestingly, our price has come right down after the window closed. We're now as short as 7-2 to win the league, whereas a couple of weeks ago we were around 5-1 and a couple of months ago about 9-1.
Top 6:
Newcastle 7-4
Norwich 7-2
Brighton 5-1
Huddersfield 14-1
Villa 18-1
Wolves 20-1

So, the doom and gloom amongst the majority on here is not shared by the bookies.

I'm not a betting person and don't fully get the betting business, but this probably has more to do with how much was bet on Norwich at 9 - 1 and how the betting companies like to hedge there bets.

True Canario. What it indicates is where people are betting. Why aren't people in Brum betting on Villa? They're supposed to have had a much better window than we had and are a bigger club and all that. Curious.

Still don't know how I feel about him. Looked so awful for Arsenal and Palace. Might be a different prospect in the Championship. He's 6'2, and alright in the air. But he's not a finisher, and that's what we are missing. It's why I was so gutted to not get Rhodes, because he's the opposite. He is purely a finisher.

Ooooh, here's a bit.

Something along the lines of "Working on 2 or 3 going out, and 1 or 2 to come in, but as those players going out fell through, so then so did the ones coming in"

.....We didn't need to sell before we bought. We about broke even on transfers, There's no way there wasn't money in the pot to bring in at least 1 player!!?

Presenter just said "later". God knows when the interview would be then.....That's it for me, I'll have to track down the audio another time. The music is terrible...

Just seen the Peterborough highlights. Toffolo set up 2 goals from LB didn't he?

Didn't someone on here say he didn't cover himself in glory in that game so has been shipped out? He looked involved in a lot of the build up play.

Twas I FML. What I said was that defensively he wasn't on it - got caught in possession a few times, his positioning was a bit off on occasions, some wayward passing and looked vulnerable a coupe of times when directly attacked by their wingers. Going forward he was a different story - got into some great positions, good crosses, good link-up play and made two goals. To me, he looks more a successor to Brady rather than Olsson, but that is only my view.

Not sure what it is with our full-backs - they all look better attacking than they do defending.!!!

Ah, I see. Was he who gave the Pen away at the end? In quick play it was hard to tell the difference between players, there was a few with 20 something on their backs, and similar haircuts.

No - that was Godfrey who gave away the pen. Godfrey, after a shaky start, was excellent and looked comfortable defending and going forward.
