If we are looking for trends, we should look at the whole picture. Impressive win over a weak Blackburn team was followed by a hard fought draw with a SW team that beat Villa in their opening match. I didn't find it boring, but in any case that isn't the criterion where form is concerned. For some reason our 1-0 win over Bristol City was ignored. Didn't fit the trend? Ipswich away was reminiscient of the play-off game at PR and a reasonable result considering. Yes the match at Brum was awful, but it's the only one of our first 5 games that I would put in that category. Cardiff at home will tell us whether there is any trend or not, but I still fancy our chances.
Three of our matches this month are at home and as you say RER, we should be beating the likes of Cardiff or at least competing toe to toe to give the fans something to cheer and hopefully some of our injured players should be making a comeback during the month and so increase the 'selection headache' for AN.
