If you don't like it don't go
I hate 80s music so I don't go to 80s pubs....actually I don't and I do but for **** sake, when did we all get soppy....ooh I'm offended....Dev you get offence from huns every day on this board but keep coming back for more
I say let everyone sing what they want and let the world judge them
Come on, do you want rangers to look like a normal family club?
I love it that they look like bigots

So that's your solution, that I stay away?

I'm afraid that's a wholly ridiculous suggestion much like the rest of your fatuous argument.

I cannot believe that any person can seriously contemplate banning all songs with the Initials I R A in them.
If that is true that person is a total idiot and does not know what he or she is talking about. What I have been trying to say
and have been waiting for Dick Advocate and his side kicks to admit that there are perfectly innocent songs and lyrics with
the Initials I R A in them. There are also horrible nasty songs, but mostly lyrics that should not ever be allowed in any public
place and some of these contains the initials I R A.
Now if we are going to have common-sense and eradicate the horrible nasty unacceptable singing from Celtic Park, people who
know what they are talking about need to sit down with each other and come to a compromise. That is the way everyone can
enjoy the experience of attending matches at Celtic Park. We have to take a firm hard line, the unacceptable has to be cut out,
the songs that are not offensive, sectarian or bigoted, despite what some might want to try to be offended, must be kept as acceptable
and sung if appropriate. I don't think Celtic have a right to decide the Rangers song sheets, neither Should the Rangers decide ours.

You have neither the wit nor the intelligence to comprehend it would appear, so I'll tell you what everyone else has been telling you on this forum (when they are not laughing up their sleeves at your inane ramblings). You are living in a fantasy world.

I just said the songs "Offend" me, so who are you to decide what is offensive to people? Who made you the moral guardian or Chief of the thought police? You don't have the right to tell people what should and should not offend them, you do not grasp that concept.

Please don't respond because I will be compelled to counter, even though I know it will be a waste of time. People like you are the problem because like the GB, you seem to know a lot about nothing in particular, people like you will continue to dismiss the complaints of other people and carry on regardless despite the potential consequences.

Maybe one day you will understand but I doubt it will be anytime soon.

Here endeth the lesson <ok>

I still like the rebels and i know SH is damaging my position in that regard, but this is just too funny.

I keep jumping in and out of this so forgive me if I rehash

Surely banning something just because it is offensive opens up the problem of people saying things are offensive just to get them banned

Dev, IRA songs offend you....however the word HUN offends Medro, yet even today i saw you use it in a post

Will you stop using the word as it is offensive?

Is it only offensive if It is racist or sectarian?

Why is that worse than calling someone a ****

What do the RA have to do with football? The same as the catalonian language does or basque separatism does....nothing directly, but football was and is somewhere like minded individuals could gather in groups and have their say on unpopular or banned matters.

You can't insinuate people who disagree with you are stupid or are stupid because they sing controversial songs

I find that if people are offended by something, it can obsess them and it only encourages the offenders....girvan loyal anyone?

Sometimes you just need to forget about it before you turn into rev paisley

1: I never said songs about the IRA should be "banned" did I? No, you imagined that same as you imagined I used the word "Hun" in a post today.

2: Simply not true, you imagined it.(see above)

3: How is using the word "Hun" on a football forum the same as using it at a football ground in a song? Have I told Medro he has no right to be offended like the Green Brigade and you and SuperHoops seem to think? Not at all, I debated the point that "context" was key. "Hun" to me simply means a Rangers supporter, what are the GB singing about when they mention the IRA? Am I somehow taking their songs out of context?

4: Of course it is'nt, that's exactly the point I am making.

5: It's no different and that's the point you seem to be missing. It is offensive, If I call someone a ****, has he no right to be offended?

6: I don't give a monkey's what other clubs fans sing, I don't follow those teams, and I don't care if their fans drop them in the ****, however I reserve the right to be offended.

7:I never "insinuated" that people who disagree with me are idiots, what I am saying quite openly is that people who preach to others on what they should and should not find offensive are ****ing morons.

8:Thanks for that insight but that's like saying the offended are as guilty as the offender. Utter hogwash.

9:Again, thanks for the moral lesson and guidance but that's not likely to happen.

I started a response on your behalf but I thought better of it. It seems the only possible way to conduct a discussion on these forums is to just make up what you think someone said.

I am going to do that in future I think.

Remember that time when all the Huns thought Paul McBride had apologised for saying the SFA was like something out of Monty Python?
He hadn't apologised at all, but they just assumed he had. I always feel like that on this forum.

O/k dick you win. I have no intention of been the moral Guardian or Chief of the thought Police. I leave those roles to yourself Dev as it seems, in your eyes,
you are the only person fit to do them.
The one thing I will say that if I want to add further posts to this or any other tropic I will and you replying or not will not be a deciding factor.
Let us go back a few years to Dev's Celtic Park, as quiet as a graveyard and no atmosphere.
Along comes Neil Lennon and the Green Brigade and we have the thunder back, what a difference.
Dev wants Tony back and no singing.

Surely got to be a WUM. Reveal yourself Pope!

It was about Phil McGiollaBhain telling us to stop singing the rebel songs and it is now about not reading what Dev has written, but have a guess at a vague approximation and take it from there.
