This is the first time I've felt such anger towards AN.
I'm not sure I blame AN really, at the end of the day he says what he wants, perhaps recommends a player or two, then it's down to others to do the deals.
Given the farce of the last summer, I wouldn't be surprised if he retained Whittaker and Turner just to make sure he had a couple of defenders. We could easily have sold (or yet sell?) Olsson and Brady, and left ourselves stuck with a fullback crisis for 4 years before we finally sign another.
Redmond replaced with Canos and Pritchard is genuinely good business. And Oliveira seems a solid addition.
Beyond that, the biggest thing seems to be indecision. I've no idea what our budget is, but we clearly have some more money available. I'm happy us signing youngsters, I'm not worried about big names, but we seem to be trying to sign them despite not having the budget. We're wasting time there when i feel the targets should be 21-25 year olds signed for about £2-4m from overseas, who can ideally be a first team rotation option initially, but with real potential to grow.
Canos fits that bill, but a CB or striker of a similar mould can't be impossible to find, surely?
