I think transfer deadline day deals happen because that's when clubs either lower valuations of players no longer wanted, tell players they need to move on to have a chance of first team football or clubs panic buying.

The type of signing can determine what category it is in

Eg:

Bony to Stoke - player wants first team football

Ngog to Swansea - panic buy

It's good to be able to tweak you're team after a few games to see what you have .
I think it a good idea in general but that's me .

If a team needs tweaking after 3 games, that tells you that the players signed are not good enough or that your squad should have been strengthened long before.

I'd take Valensia on a LOAN deal for sure , just wouldn't buy him .
You want Bony here but where was he in the pecking order in his last team

Erm, behind the world's best striker Aguero (who hardly ever gets injured) and one of the best up & coming strikers in Iheanacho playing in style that doesn't suit him and not getting a consistent to run of games to gain form...

We REALLY screwed the pooch letting Stoke get him imo.

You can't have someone who doesn't want to be had ,

Reported 2m for the loan deal, I see it as a bargain, but we would prefer to take a chance with untried and a striker, who just doesn't score goals but Huw knows what he is doing.

4th choice striker at Leicester. We need better than that. Same with Valencia. If all of WHU strikers are fit, he's 4th choice too.

So much for the 'ambition' of these Yanks.
I would take Ullola before Valencia, rather than either I would have preferred a quality experienced centre half, be cause as it stands it doesn't matter how many goals we score, we look like conceding more.

Within the last hour ---

1) Valencia "in talks".
2) Ulloa "linked".
3) "Moves made for" - Adam Maher, PSV, midfielder,
- and Hakim Zieych, FC Twente, attacking midfielder.

Window closing 23.30 tonight.

International clearance required for all these players.
I know that will take place providing deals done before deadline, but really?

What a state of affairs. How not to run a football club.

Hi Vetch - I thought that Ziyech had a medical at Ajax yesterday?

As for the others, smacks of "panic" buying following our last 2 PL defeats.....

I can imagine the Yanks becoming very agitated if we fail to pick up many points over the next 6-7 games.....

So panic amongst the Board to ensure we have a
That's because, Taff we are in panic and have to do something. I actually quite like the look of the 2 midfielders on checking out info, but have to say know nothing about them.
Could be that the penny has finally dropped and that Huw et al have realised that the other sides have all strengthened.

I would still have liked to see us sign an experienced Centre Half ........ Must admit that I had anticipated and expected Guido to have brought in some Italian players known to him.......

A sign that he hasn't got contacts ? ..... or a sign that the Board Members don't have complete faith in him? ......

No shame being number 2 to arguably the best striker on the planet when fully fit. What's your point?
