Mason can play in that attacking role in midfield, as I mentioned the other day, so that may be why Henriksen has fallen through.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Arrived in the office for the long night shift. Get the impression #hcafc will be working right up until the deadline.
It seems MH is indeed a fallback option but I think for someone else, more attack minded than Mason. No idea who but looking at where we're thin on numbers it will probably be someone who can play out left as well as through the middle. Might just be that we're working to a defined budget and see other priority signings, or AZ are looking to offload for more than we think he's worth. If we are in for someone like Rodriguez then you can see why we'd probably pursue that over MH. Just like if we were in for Brady again would probably affect the sort of player needed to cover full back positions.... It's a big jigsaw puzzle I guess.
AZ are pushing through Henriksen's replacement, he's in for a medical at the moment. Theo Brinkman @theocbrinkman Min.7 · 7 minutes ago Iliass Bel Hassani has been at AZ for medical examination. Transfer from Markus Henriksen to Hull City still uncertain. #AZ #heracles
So if the Henriksen deal is to move ahead, likely it will have to wait until the replacement is officially in.

Maybe they would rather make sure they have the players they need before letting the others go. Don't blame them if so.
Perhaps, but the deal seems more positively talked about from the dutch side than ours so far. They seem to be pushing this for some reason. Withhout knowing more I wouldn't like to call it either way. Player I'd like to see though....
That's because the Dutch side knows more about it than us. Why would City sources be going on about AZ signing someone?
