Alan Pardew - "Joey Barton is a great player and you want great players in your team. The door is not closed on Joey." #NUFC #fb

#Nufc Pardew "my relationship with Joey is unbroken the problem is he's criticised the board"

So much for "no comment on JB"

So if he is the manager and makes the decisions and there is no fallout between him and Barton surely Barton will start against Arsenal?

Pardew is saying things can be sorted out between players and management, and Twitter has made things much much worse that they seem, and he wants to get it sorted. He doesn't sound like an admirer of twitter at all. I think we could be close to a full squad twitter ban.

He doesnt make the decisions though, Ashley and Llambias have the final say.

That makes me think has Pardew not got a spine like? Could you imagine Sir Fergie being told of his board he was not allowed to play a particular player? Not just Fergie most managers would say **** that im outta here.

He's saying he's not against it, he just doesn't want them talking about the club.

Ashley wouldnt appoint a manager who'd raise hell at every decision he doesnt like though, would he? Pardew took the job knowing he wouldnt get final say.

Pardew is saying he's keeping Joey separate from the first team at the moment until everything gets sorted out. Seems like a sensible move by Pardew to be fair, he doesn't want this issue harming the chemistry in the dressing room. He's not saying Joey is a monster and will hurt the players, he's saying he doesn't want this issue between the club and Joey to affect the first teams morale.

Credit Pards on the Joey situation tbf! He has a great point about Twitter making this bigger than it should have been.
