I don't see us playing with a proper front two never mind front three. That's because we are too unwilling to rely on three or four in midfield.
"PS! Etter det VG forstår gjenstår bare få detaljer før en annen nordmann, Markus Henriksen, også er klar for Hull. Han blir solgt fra AZ Alkmaar."
We can take the stance West Brom have with Berahino and say you are contracted here, you will not be sold in this window. End of conversation. However this rumour hasn't gone away which suggests that City have hardly discouraged Villa? If Abel wants out, then frankly I wouldn't want him here, we want people absolutely committed to the cause. That said no move unless we have a replacement lined up, and suspect Kodjia would only happen if Abel does indeed move on. If that happens we will be in the brown stuff big time if Kodjia is called up for the Africa Cup of Nations and he's 'lost' for c4 weeks!
We need 4 decent strikers in this league. Dio has started well as has Abel. We can't just sell one and bring in Kodjia. We need all the options up front we can get. Kodjia, Keane, Abel and Dio.
IF we keep those four, and I agree we need four on the books, thats barely enough as for me today it represents one proven, and three with potential
Non of them are proven at pl level and if we lose Abel the others have (not sure about Keane) even played pl football. We carnt go upto January with that selection of forwards but I'm assuming the club will already know that........I hope
Hull Transfers @HullTransfers 3m3 minutes ago Ryan Mason's move to Hull City should be confirmed today (@reluctantnicko) #hcafc
Not necessarily. Rumours can come from various sources, including plenty of the crappy ones that get all the hype at this time as people try to get some oneupmanship on others by guessing.
I think with half decent service Abel has proved he can do it at PL level. I rememeber his debut against West Ham, on another night he could have had a hat trick but for the bar! Keane I think has played a handful of games at PL level, and Dio 3 this season, so hardly proven along with Kodjia
Exactly, rumours are just that, not facts. These rumours are either fans guessing because of an earlier bid and Villa been flush with cash, press been lazy, or even Villa trying to unsettle the poayer. not of it means anything unless City decide to sell, to get that they need a massive lump of cash on the table up front
Maybe, but had City made a statement and said NO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and that Abel was onside, that would have been the end of the rumour
Thanks to Peter & Syd - 400 is a possibility before a signing is confirmed I think the Hendricks interest was to force Masons hand (although we would have followed through with the interest should Mason had said no) - Sunderland had a fleeting interest but Mason realises he can't just hold out and risk our move falling through too. I expect - Mason, Marshall & Keane today. For tomorrow's finale it will all be about getting Henricksen in & the Hernadez/Koj in/out/both & perhaps a loan addition.
I think given the window doesn't re open until January we'd be wise to sign Mason and Hendrick. All good healthy competition and we are still light in most areas of the pitch.
Maybe they've got better things to do than reply to every rumour. Until something more substantial comes up concerning it I don't think it's relevant to is. It is to Villa, but I don't care about them. Edit: And for people now to say the deal is suddenly dead may be just trying to cover themselves for making out it was likely to happen anyway.
