The reason that Rangers are handing out 5 year deals to Whittaker and a 6 year deal to McGregor is that they (or Celtic for that matter) can not afford to compete with Premier League wages, so they offer the guy a lower wage than he would get elsewhere over an extended period. Of course if you offer someone a career long contract they don't feel the need to fight, on the pitch, for their next contract.

I'm not there biggest fan (which is an understatement) but they done no bad when McCulloch went to centre back and Edu went to right back, that way they see a lot less of the ball Wylde and Healy must be frustrated as ****.
