Rumours circulating that Puel is on his way out.
He had a huge bust up with Tadic.....and wanted him transfer listed.
Don't shoot the messenger!
Lots of friction in the camp.

I can accept unhappiness in the camp...the team are struggling with the system and/or don't believe in it. Two players (Pierre and Virgil) have expressed concern. However, if that is a real problem it would be more a matter for discussion than for sacking the manager. To sack Puel so early and go into the campaign without a manager or sight of a replacement would surely take something of monumental proportions. I'm guessing whinging amongst the players has started a wildfire. Never say never and he may be sacked before the end of the season, but can't see it at this stage.

The players may well be unhappy with Puel.

But the truth won't be found from "the girlfriend of a U23 player" or some joke website that lets anyone post "rumors."

Puel could be terrible. It will take at least half a season before we know. By that time, we could be screwed.

He could also be amazing. But that would also take at least half a season to find out.

Even then, would we *truly* know? Is the problem Puel's tactics, or the Board for extending everyone instead of bringing in the players that were needed?

That's the fun of it. There is pretty much 0% chance we will win the league. But if we finish even 8th that will be against the odds and awesome.

If you can't handle the stakes, root for Man U. Or Hull.

I should add-- this is not directed at any particular poster on here. More the Saintsweb mentality where the need to be right and draw crazy conclusions from every dubious rumor.

We just don't know. The players could hate Puel, they could love him. Embrace the uncertainty.

Even on Saintsweb there are sensible posters doubting the veracity of these rumours. :) It is amazing how things get exaggerated....someone talks of JRod being angry about wanting to play. As far as I can see, he has stated that he needs to play. He is well aware that Saints have treated him well through a long period of injury...I doubt he is angry at Saints, but just concerned about his continuing recovery. Likewise, Virgil's concerns fall far short of attacking Saints or Puel. So not happy bunnies for differing reasons, but not raging malcontents.

Jeez, reading anything about saints these days is slit your wrists stuff. Have a bit of this -

"Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do"

Angry is an emotion. Jayrod doesn't do emotion unless he scores a goal.

Think on current form Romeu and Cedric let down a good looking lineup.

I think that's really harsh on Romeu, who more than any other player this season, looks like he is being asked to play a role he is still unfamiliar with.

As for Cedric, he's never completely convinced me at RB. He let's wide players get goal side of him far too often for my liking. He's good on the ball though.

Both are still improving imo. And still learning.

I agree about Romeu being asked to do the role on his own and although I am the great defender of all things saints ( :)), Romeu has been poor. Basic passing skills have not been at his usual standard. Mitigation is there, but poor he he been.

In reality though Boufal is the best of the three.

And he's the one we've signed up! Good stuff.

That Ghezzal has the touch and passing thing sorted. Plus if he can make Lacazette look good, imagine what he could do with Shane Long!

Which I also agree is down to the role and the change of system because he was a good, solid player for us last year and I was confident he could fill Wanyama's boots.

I dont quite get why we are finding it so hard to play this new system but we struggled for a few games last year as we went to the 3 at the back under Koeman.

Yes. But it's a lot easier to pass, especially in tight areas, when a) people in front of you make themselves available, & b) you are able to anticipate their movement through mutual understanding. In other words, to some extent at least, his teammates have been making him look bad.

Yes partly, but he has misplaced a lot of simple 10 years ones. Not like him really. Perhaps he's upset with Puel and trying to get him sacked - that would fit with recent bollocks on line :)

Heh, people have already driven the odds on him being the next manager to leave down to 9/1, which are the fifth-lowest. Particularly impressive given that there shouldn't need to be a market, because the answer is clearly Alan Pardew.

'Next permanent Hull manager' is fifth favourite to go - a man not even technically in the job, and for a team flying high!

It often takes time with anything new. Romeu is a good, solid player, brought up through Spainish youth football - he can pass and pass well. He's just having a blip and I'm just trying to fit in with the cool kids and lose my happy clapper label :)

Any player that is involved with a new system is going to have problems adapting no matter how good they are. Saints fans should not assume that Puel will only play one system. I'm told on good authority that he used up to 4 different systems at his last Club. I am also told that not all the systems he used went down too well with the fans at times.
So the Saints fans are not alone in there criticism of some of the formations he plays. Mind you bear in mind he was still successful though.

<laugh> Not like you to be this negative. You must have had a **** drive down in the BH traffic, putting you in a rotten mood before a ball was kicked.
