As it's looking our captain Ian Ashbee may not be playing for Hull again. In this light do think Andy Dawson should be given the responsibilty?

My choice would be koren. Not 100% if there's a language barrier of some kind, in the mid-field ,experienced international, vice captain Harper.

Did you see him play yesterday (Koren)? You need a captain who will lead by example, not one who won't chase after the ball.

Harper probably the leading candidate. Wouldn't object to gerrard either although the fact he's only on loan would be an issue

Perhaps allow Gerrard to be captain until the end of the season it won't do anyone any harm and bring someone in in the summer with captaincy quality. At the moment I don't think we have a leader that's on a permanent deal.

If Gerrard's loan is made permanent he would be the one I would nominate. He is a consistent larker and looks a leader when he is on the field.

Gerrard, Dawson is a ****ing liability, Yes he did ok yesterday but theirs been plenty of times this season he hasn't, We need to replace him not give him the captaincy. As for Harper he also did ok but usually he is ****e so it's a big no to him as well.

Difficult this one, Dawson is City through and through so perhaps him. But then so was Ash and look how he is leaving

Not sure about him being City through and through, I've been with my company for 13 years and would have no qualms about leaving them for a better deal especially if most of my mates had left.

Yeah, well anybody would do that if they had a wife and family to look after. A footballers life is all too short and comes to an end at the mid-thirty mark usually.
Word around the traps is that we are currently looking at two very experienced mid-fielders with a potential Captaincy in the offing.

Sign Gerrard, make him captain. Can't really give a loanee the captaincy so give Harper it if not.

Need some one quickly as its becoming noticable on the field mistakes not getting sorted out,Dawes cant keep running across the park to the other side whilst in his roll as left back needs to be some one in the center.

A footballers life is too short is an old proverb and no longer carries the same stigma. In fact looking at the contracts they are on now (prem and Championship) I would say its too bloody long. With the money they are on they could easily retire after 5 years.

I would give it to Dawson for the rest of this season and, without questio,n Anthony Gerrard (after he signs permanently) for next season.

Dawson was a liability yesterday! If harper is gonna play every game, which he obviously is, then i would give him the captaincy

For Harper to take on the arm band fully i would like to see a bit more commitment from him.Everyone is prone to make mistakes at some time ,some of Harps' are sunday lge.

Given the way Daws was bollocking the wrong people earlier in the season he can run across the other side of West Park before he runs across the pitch to sort out problems. When a man is left unmarked at set pieces and he tells the keeper to shut up complaining about it something is very wrong.

I'd say that the main options are Gerrard, Dawson or Harper.

I'd probably go for Gerrard, but would it be too weird considering he is on loan?

I always find the fact that Koren is captain for Slovenia rather odd, hes a very good player but his performances for us don't generally show captainship in the form of leadership or leading by example. Maybe if we gave him it it would make him take more responsibility and not go missing at times. Tbh I think Gerrard is the ideal candidate, just need to sign him up.

I've no problem with a loanee being captain. If you're lacking a pacey winger you go and loan one. If you're lacking a creative midfielder you can go and loan one. Why is it more acceptable to loan someone because their fast or creative than because they're a good leader?
