We all know the iconic image of Peter Osgood nailing Leeds, diving towards the goal and heading it past David Harvey in the 79th minute to take us into extra time and eventually Chelsea sealing the win through Webb.
I wasn't born then, sorry Ginge & Sheriff
, but the image is as strong for me as any other in my time as a Chelsea fan.
1997 is a different story as I was then 23 - Boro on the attack, Chelsea win it back through Dennis Wise who threads it through to Di Matteo in his own half in the centre of the park...
I'm not sure I was ready for the next 12 seconds as I'd only just got to grips with us being in the final...

An immense effort, always rising, glanced off the underside of the bar from 25 yards...
The only thing to ever compare is Lampards second at Bolton in 2004/ 05.
The point of me being bothered to write this is purely based on my having read this:

I completely forgot what a nightmare the guy had coming back from that injury, and had no real concept of what he'd been through since, but a pretty nice article that gives you a decent insight into the determination of a man to succeed and move on.
AVB is pretty untested at the highest level, but has an understanding of the club and the players, and more importantly of the game.
Employing Robbie next to him was a pretty shrewd move, and although it's very early days I think we have the potential to really do well this season and hopefully, finally start and build a bit of a legacy at the club instead of the ejector seat logic that has shadowed us for such a long time
