Good deal for Everton and good for England. Pep can make him a top quality CB
Nice thread title but I suppose it was expected.....

Last year Money couldn't buy Chelsea Stones which I was pleased about tbh..

This year the key is "MORE MONEY" could buy Man City Stones which I'm also pleased about <ok>

Meat the players valuation sign the player....

Court the player for months whilst not offering near the valuation and fork off<laugh>

Let's hope we get a Lukaku replacement and get rid of him for mental money as well as far as I'm concerned <cheers>

The lad made it plain he wanted to go months ago, it was always about haggling over the fee.

City put up £40m but we wanted them to cover the 15% sell on that Barnsley are due, it appears that's happened @ £47.5m

Really surprised by this.
There I was thinking last season that we dodged a bullet, since the kid was pretty **** last season.
Then City spend silly money on him.

He's quality mate, by the end of the season the fee will be seen as money well spent.
Only if Pep can eradicate the mistakes in his game.

He'd make 2 or 3 a game for us, and under the increased spotlight at City those will be magnified.

He's a great talent but not yet a great defender, but he's a smart lad, and very eager to progress, so I hope it works out for him.

I think it will but he could do with a fit Kompany alongside him.

He'll benefit from City having less defending to do than Everton

Also teams generally sit deeper against them so the age he takes on the ball won't be so costly

If he plays in Europe though... <laugh>

Imagine if he played for Burnley with 81% posession to the opposition?

You might have scored then lol

Oh wait....<laugh>

Looks like Bobby got in Holgate and the club did great business moving Stones on for a record fee.

Young Mason will make the same mistakes Stones did, but is also a confident lad who will do well.

He has pace, eye for a pass.....just doesn't have the range of passing Stones does

Which obviously means that Astro will by default think he's rubbish because he plays for us....

Why a worldie manager like Guardiola didn't consult not606's resident twonk about Stones i'll never know?

You'd think he'd ask the world's most knowledgeable before spunking nigh on 50m wouldn't you? <laugh>

<laugh> you think Guardiola gives a **** or has ever even heard of Stones?

Stones is young and will fill a homegrown spot for many years.

This is the same club that spent £15m on Rodwell in 2012.

Didn't think that Pep signed Rodwell<laugh>

If you wanted to fill a HG spot, then just have a ressie in the 23

But not the same manager.

Stones is already looking good for them and there has been noticeable improvement in Sterling. This manager has also noticed that Hart is ****, I am starting to worry he may make a good team out of City.

Stones' fee means nothing to City (less in TV-adjusted terms than the Rodwell deal). Guardiola's strategy is to sort things out at the other end of the pitch so you can even play Mascherano at CB. Stones is a homegrown reserve when Guardiola completes the same conversion with Fernandinho.

Hate to be the one to tell you this but, to most teams the fee means nothing as long as they get the right man.
If Pep wanted to sort out the other end of the pitch why buy defenders and a keeper, you do know that Barca was built on a solid defence first don't you?

Well he loves a sweeper keeper too of course, and City are already well-stocked for attackers now he's brought Sterling's replacement in.

And is playing them together on opposite sides of the pitch :emoticon-0100-smile

Oh, and on the sweeper keeper thing <laugh>
(that was just a nice way of saying Hart is ****, check out his previous keeper's, there are only two, both quick off their line but nothing like Bravo)
