Maybe he was more into bible studies back then, and was trying to recall Leviticus 20:13?

Wonder how he would get on quoting the bible as his moral guide. We do swear on the bible to tell the truth etc so if its all deemed bad pc now... Did I mention religion damn I thought id mentioned the war

Not true, he used free speech to air his views, no one stopped him and there were no restrictions, the posts weren't blocked by twitter they were published for the world to see.

What has happened since is a moral reaction to his use free speech from the media and public, people disagree with what he said and now he's facing the consequences.

Free speech merely gives you the platform to air your views, it doesn't protect you from the reaction those views might provoke.
If you can't say it without being charged with something and punished it's not free speech is it.

It's like saying everyone has free speech in North Korea - yeah you can say what you like but you'll be killed by artillery squad for saying it.

There's a difference between free speech and what is appropriate for your profession.

Would you complain if a primary school teacher talked about their sex life to a group of 6 year olds?

Gray exercised his right to free speech to air his views which were published without restrictions before they were voluntarily removed. His employers and governing body have decided they are inappropriate and charged him for them, they didn't stop him saying them and he's free to leave his job and carry on posting things like that if he doesn't agree with the charge.
