That Porto team produced the most cynical game of football i have ever had the displeasure to watch when they beat Celtic in the UEFA cup final.
Still remember a Celtic fan being interviewed after the match " if that is what it takes to win in Europe these days i'd rather not"
Celtic were just as cynical when they beat the Barca side. Celtic are just a bunch of thugs.
I think the rumor is complete bollcocks anyway.
And Jose can't turn anything for ****. He buys and plays established players and lets them do the work for him. I say that from my observation. I haven't bothered to research every player he's played/bought to justify my opinion, but I think that's a good assumption. Although he did a good job at Porto.
As for who Jose made WC,
Ricardo Carvalho became a WC defender under him
Took an up and coming keeper in Cech and made him WC (or maybe cech would have become WC but many keepers for the next big thing don't, see Kirkland, Robinson, Hart, Carson, Foster, Schezny etc)
Took Drogba and made him WC (could be argued he was a monster, but only at Marseille)
Damien Duff was pretty decent, went downhill after he left Chelsea
Schneider was a no mark failure in Real til Jose rescued him and helped him to a CL medal at Inter
Varane, Marcelo, Di Maria, Ozil, Khedira did alright under him when they weren't household names. All up and coming players who did well at lower clubs or foreign leagues but no where near the end product. Your firminos, Markovics, Bentekes
