Definite penalty for push on Abraham under the bar. Newcastle number two was not even looking at the ball when he pushed Abraham.

    He's not allowed to.

It's the Villa Newcastle, Norwich and Leeds show for Sky.
Nothing - especially a penalty - is allowed to get in the way.

Too many bookies would be out of pocket. The boys would be sent round to the referees house to remind him who pays his wages.

The growing number of teams and stadia that are linked to betting companies is quite scary, and when you think of the conflicts of interest and everything else it makes you wonder how long will we have to wait until the inevitable happens. Betting on professional sport has always been a dangerous area and with the amount of offshore money coming in to the game, especially those coming from parts of the world that shall we say have less ethics than us, it is only a matter of time before the sport will be bathed in controversy on this point.

I read last week that a betting ring was found in Port Talbot that was suspected of fixing matches and if it is happening there, where else is next? You only have to look at the chosen teams for prime-time TV to see through the thin veil of greed, and perhaps something else, that has been stinking out our game for years.

There is no conflict of interest at all as, like with all things business, corruption is rife....

Has no one ever noticed that 4 or 5 times a season there will be a set of extremely unlikely results, all in the same weekend, all across Europe and further a field. I'm not talking at the lower end of the leagues, I am talking about the very top end.

I call them bookies benefits weekends....

As for the penalty, I couldn't figure why a bloke who only had to nod the ball into an open goal in front of him managed to head it backwards (at least that's what it looked like), thanks for clearing that up.
